i mean whats there to say, its an external hard drive. speeds are alright, its what youd expect for a 5400rpm drive. if you can get it on sale its definitely worth it.

A big external drive to place a bunch of stuff on.

I've been using this same brand external drive for a while. I haven't encountered any problem on my old one. I just got a new one as backup. I noticed that the hard disk it uses now is just plan white one. The older version I got used a NAS grade hard disk. I hope it can handle the constant writing.

I mainly have videos stored on this drive and have it hooked to my PC and that PC runs a plex server. This drive is fast enough that I have no problem watching movies from it.

Makes no sense that an external hard drive is cheaper than an internal one, but, whatever. I picked this up, popped the case off, took the hard drive out and jammed it in my computer. Now, I can save stuff to it. Also, I got a usb 3.0 case for whenever something comes up.

Fast start-up easy to connect great product overall

Fast drive. So far it is stable. With such a large drive, I decided to do a "break-in" stress test -- 2x full rewrite with random data. Then, full WD tools test. After everything passed, I started using it.

Large capacity, and worth the price. Speed thanks to the USB port is great. perfect media for video, photo storage and data backup.

I transfer files from my home computer to work just in case of a disaster that destroys my work. Very trustworthy. I feel much better knowing I have duplicates of everything, thanks to this.

This is a fantastic way to score a 8 TB HD for next to nothing. The drives included in these external enclosures are WD "RED" drives. These drives are made for Network Attached Storage devices so if you are looking to build a NAS, this is a fantastic deal!

No complaint about the drive except for the running temperature. It heats up quickly in it's enclosure. It's passively cooled with no fans and little ventilation. It's easily shuckable with some guitar picks. It runs hotter than even Toshiba drives in my computer case.

I bought this on sale for a huge discount, It is worth the retail price. I have contemplated buying another one. I use it connected to my routers USB port as a network drive for media and file backup.

I never use the software to backup my data, this time i did. Seems to work well. Ill try a recover to see if it works. if it doesnt, i'll report back, but so far so good.

These come with WD Red hard disks, which are considerably more expensive if you buy them standalone. On that basis alone, they are a very good deal, but you also get a USB 3 enclosure on top of that.

Seems to be pretty fast, although I'm using it with an old server with USB 2.0 only. Stablebit Scanner keeps telling me it's passing the temperature threshold, so I'm not sure if that's true or not.
