Not a computer whiz so the fact this was configured for Windows eluded me until I went online. When I got the proper software to configure for Mac it was easy. Had the same problem only once before so had forgotten that fiasco

bought several of these over the years. Great drive. Most come with the Western Digital Red NAS drive inside if you are shucking them for the drive.

This 8 TB external hard drive is fairly inexpensive, has a large amount of storage for the price and is available at a pretty low price . It got pretty good ratings too. It's a Best Buy!

And I thought my 1 TB was massive, but this is great! Only downside is that this one also has to be plugged into an electrical outlet for it to work as well as your USB port. Kinda a hassle

There was a loose part inside, so had to open it up. It was the WD white drives instead of red. Works, but isn't as quiet and it vibrates more than my natural WD red drives. Not that great if you have to constantly use it and leaving it on, but good for backing up and storing away.

Bought to use as a shared backup drive. Installed on my Netgear router and share across multiple computers. Backup software included is very limited providing basic backup functionality.

Only had this about one month. I have it attached to my router and am using it as an Apple Time Capsule. Works great so far. I’m told it has a quality hard drive inside used in a NAS.

Internally a wd red/white drive so dependable for external storage. Easy to schuck if you just want the drive for use in a multi drive Nas enclosure.

This contains a WD red drive, perfect for constant use. It works great and doesn't have high temperatures.

It is a great drive, performance is almost a 5 star. The only thing that knocked off a whole star for me was the noise. I understand a drive of this size will be louder but this would sometimes make my whole desk shake very lightly. I am running two other machines on my desk that do not have this effect.

I do a complete backup around every 2 months to this and store it. It's great for securing personal files on an external storage that will take forever to fill.

This is my 6th one of these in 8 years , I use it almost every day but alas they are material and we live in a capatalist society so they build them to break down and not last forever . Wish it was a bit more durable . Gets the job done but I always have to make sure I have a backup for my backup

This is probably the current best value for an 8 TB drive in terms of quality vs cost. The only downside to these drives is the short 2 year warranty provided by Western Digital. It remains to be seen what the long term reliability will be.

Best deal I could find. Not compact but its used to back up a desktop machine so sized did not matter. I have an older Elements version of this and it has an on/off switch. Not a big deal because windows put these things to sleep after a few minutes.

My wife got me this hard drive for the holidays, and it was just what I needed to free up some much needed space on my computer. It will take me quite some time to fill up this thing.

I have 4 of these, and 6 of the 4tb easystore drives from WD. No failures to date, even the ones I received in the mail instead of store pickup.

This is a good value for the price, and I use it for a variety of tasks beyond mere backup. This fits the bill for those needs, including video storage. You'll likely like it. too.

I thought it will be hard to set up this device but the step by step instruction was easy to follows. Now I don't have to worry losing all my files if my computer crashes.

I have had this Easystore 8T Hard Drive for almost 2 years now and have had no problems with it at all! There is plenty of room for storage and it is easy to use.

This external hard drive is so very easy to use and will store thousands of pictures, documents, and music and anything you need to keep.
