I have had no issues with it, except it never seems to work as easily I think it should - in other words, the software should be easier to run. I mean, really the hard drive has one simple job to do, and you do call it an easystore.

The drive looks very bulky. We thought it will be compact in size

Getting write speeds at about 90MB/s with this HDD. Obviously not the fastest but not breaking the bank like an SSD of the same size would.

Quality. Did a lot of research and the drives inside are what companies use for raid systems. So I know I'm getting top-grade drives for my data.

So far, this drive has been great. Excellent speed and of course, plenty of capacity. Given how fast USB 3 is, it's indistinguishable from my internal drives. The only negative is that it tends to go into sleep/power save mode rather quickly and takes a little longer than I'd like to wake.

This is such a well made external hard drive. The 8TB capacity leaves endless possibilities for the laptop. The price was so amazing for such a great product!

I needed to get an external hard drive because mine was giving out on me. I looked online at Bestbuy and picked this one up. So far so good, works great!

About half of these are WD red drives, and the other half are white label. Both perform well and have been running mine for over a year with no issues.

Not sure if clicking is a good thing

Every 10-20 seconds it makes a click; from what I've read, that's to be expected. I guess it wouldn't be a good idea to keep this "always plugged in" to be available for a scheduled back-up; thus my forgoing that in the back-up s.w. settings. Never tried WD Backup, but the version of Acronis that comes with it, is the anemic stripped-down version, rather useless for anything other than cloning a disk; not what I had in mind for a backup. Will allow an upgrade to the full version at a 10 buck savings....the path I took for an additional $30. I guess time will tell, if the thing will last far past it's meager 2yr warranty. Then if the Acronis backup Software fails, the device matters very little. Only time will tell; will up-date when a catastrophe strikes....if possible :)

It delivers as advertised. It works with my USB C port on the Mac and the transfer rate is excellent. It beat out everything else on price and the performance is great.

Well this is probably a great external hard drive, but it slows my computer down so bad, that I've started unplugging it so I can use my computer, it just won't do anything with it hooked up.-- My computer is a HP Envy, with Windows 10 and runs great without the hard drive hooked up

Great drive. Good read speeds. I immediately shucked the cage and installed it in a 2 bay USB attachment. Worked great. And it's a WD Red Nas drive inside!

Everything works great, no issues so far. File transfers go smoothly and fairly quickly. I have only had it for a month. The true testament of any storage device is longevity and the ability to recover in the event of a problem, which I cannot attest to yet.

I’ve never had an issue with WD external drives. This provides plenty of space for backing up media files and the transfer rates are impressive at this price point.

This disk works quite well but the backup software that comes with it caused my virus scanner to complain. It appears to use some questionable applications that my virus scanner keeps deleting as risky. I ended up deleting the software and using Microsoft backup instead.

Needed a large backup external drive. Works great. Using the built in backup software was a breeze. Have it backing up on a schedule for all my media and pictures.

I use this to store important documents and photos. It replaced an old 500 gb external drive. The increased speed transfers with usb 3.0 is amazing.
