I'd give it 4.5 but that's not an option. My one and only complaint is that when my Xbox one is in hybernate, the external hard drive randomly spins up. And if the USB is unplugged while in use the hdd some times takes a while to stop spinning.

This is a good external drive. It contains a WD "White" drive which has the same specifications as the WD "Red" drive, which is a NAS rated drive.

It works great for my 17" Dell laptop now I'm able to run all my software & storage for my music,pictures plus other items. Is very easy to set up & run

The external hard drive with 8 TB is insane. I will not run out of space for the next 2 or 3 years. The software and write speeds are quite good for this, too.

I backup everything, and I mean everything to this drive. It is fast and very responsive. It easy to setup. So review state it runs hot. Mine does not.

This drive was the size I needed and came well recommended by others who have similar video storage needs. It has proven reliable and fast enough for me.

So far so good. For the capacity you get for the cost, you can't beat it. Out of the box suitable for NAS use as the drive inside the enclosure is a WD Red.

These external hard drives are a good value for the size. Good for shucking and using as an internal hard drive.

I use this external for my PS4. Can hardly tell the difference between this external and the PS4 internal in terms of speed.

I've been using this drive for over a year now and it still works great. I shucked it and am using it internally in my PC. It doesn't have the fastest writes speeds, but it isn't slow for my needs. I haven't had any issues with the drive.

This went on sale and I knew I had to have it. The speed is great. Have several 250 gig hard drives now I can put all my stuff on one drive

I had a WD external drive die on me. I went to Best Buy and purchased a new 8TB unit and started the task of retrieving software. A few weeks after I was filing receipts and found a warranty I purchased for the dead unit. I went in and this is the item available for replacement. I gladly accepted it as I didn't expect to get a replacement since I didn't remember buying the 4 year warranty. I took it home and left in unopened in the closet. I started using it about 2 weeks ago and it tends to make a grinding noise when it's writing. Not a I'm going to die noise, just enough to make me worry. It's the cheapest one WD makes, so in this case, I get what I paid for. I just hope it lasts.

Nice drive, fairly fast for a mechanical drive. Was at a really good sale price. I do not use the software that came with it, but its there.

It's larger in size than expected but it works well.

WD produces very good droves for video editing work. I have portable WD drives for editing video on the road. They work great.

I'm using this to store some additional media for my Plex setup and so far seems fine. Plugged it in and it worked without issue. I was a little curious about it's funky usb cable but as long as it works it works.
