This is the largest size External HD I've ever purchased (8TB) to store my work on (photo & videos). I just filled about 6TB of it and now it's giving me trouble being read by my laptop. I've tried on other devices and the issue remains. I've also tried my other drives and they're all recognized immediately. Not sure if it's the size or what. But, I have to plug and unplug it a lot of times before it's picked up. I can hear the poor thing buzz to life and then short stop when I pull the plug without ejecting properly. I'm afraid I'm going to damage all the files I have on it. It's a bit scary. I'll be avoiding drives this large from now.

I don't like that it needs to be plugged in to the wall along with the device you are using. would have been better In my opinion to run off the parent device.
