They have great prices and they do go on sale many times throughout the year. USB3.0 will transfer at around 150KB a second for speedy transfers.

I had no problem reformatting it to the several partitions of different disk formats that I needed. It is fast and has worked perfectly making backups of files from both Linux and my mac.

The drive inside is excellent quality unlike a lot of other external drives. It's essentially a NAS rated drive so it should last a lot longer.
