A good option for large storage

They are great as it or you can shuck the plastic off and get a great drive at a huge discount over a drive on its own.

Great storage for your files

Build quality is great and you can set it up so you can access your files wirelessly through your tablets, phones or laptop. Works on almost all OS and read and write time are decent(atleast for me).

Great archival drive

If you need an external drive to use for everyday use (extended storage) look at the MyPassport series.

Fast, cool (28C), and no problems so far. No complaints. Plan to order more in the future!!! Highly recommended!

Great unit for mass storage

Western Digital is always my choice

And Western Digital is the only brand I will purchase. This drive serves my purpose perfectly and and a very reasonable cost.

It is fast enough to manage this task very well .

This might be the luck of the draw, but the internal is a "Red" in mine per detected WD model number. This means the drive is of higher specs when it comes to long term storage.
