I purchased this external hard drive to replace a Seagate drive that died on me suddenly. So far this fits my needs. It's very quiet and writes quickly. So far it fits my needs well. It includes software for windows and Mac.

This is a great hard drive, I have purchased several of these and they work great. The supplied power supply goes off to the side vs. hanging down so that may help with multiple drives connected to the same outlet will fit nicely.

I've been using this for one of my backups for several months and have had not problems with it. Has enough room for my numerous photos and videos.

Drive worked as expected, transfer time great using the drive in its case. Removed the drive and installed in computer, works great as well. You cannot beat the drive, a Western Digital Red that is inside. Ended up purchasing three of these, price per GB compared to a bare drive makes it a easy purchase.

this is a small footprint , large capacity unit. I have not got any feedback yet on it's operation and efficiency.

Bought to store movies. Plenty of space and easy to use.

Value for money. No out of the box support for macOS. You can use it with MacOS with NTFS driver

Bought one of these for my son in 2019 and another one in 2020. He already had one so now he has three. He shoots and edits a lot of video so needs a large amount of storage space. He's happy with the three that he owns.

Once again I had to get another external hard drive in order to back up all my files. I don't store anything on my computer's drive and usually make sure that I have at least two (2) copies of everything. I have used Western Digital drives for many years and never had a problem with them. Great product!

This drive is filled with 4K movies and has function flawlessly for going on three years. Excellent value.

For the money, it's a great investment in having a backup drive for all of one's files, especially being able to keep up a local backup of what one has floating around online (in case online services start dying off one by one).

WD is awesome, I have several WD external drives and this one 8TB drive is now my secondary backup for my other WD drives. Why secondary, drives fail, cryptovirus (hopefully never), one drive to grab and/or have in my "In case of emergency quick grab bag", you know Hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, etc. This is one drive that I trust, one drive maker that I trust and Western Digital is the one brand that I trust. Not to mention that it's super easy to use, plug it in and in a few seconds your ready to use it. Catch it on sale and it's a great buy! Keep safe!

My SSD hard drive had a scare that it might be failing and that's a horrible feeling. Luckily I went onto the best buy website and ordered for in-store pick up. I got the last one in stock. It was a great steal and it was on sale. I did quick research right before buying and it happened to be on sale, i needed something in store right away, luckily i chose to buy and pick up. When i went into the store, the guy had no idea what he was talking to, he tried to get me to buy the other WD 8TB hard drive that was almost $100 more. I brought it home and it was a plug and play, I backed up my hard drive over night with ease. And it was also a WD RED which was even a better score!!!

Lots of storage and decent speed for retrieval although probably the computer that carries most of that responsibility

I wanted to add a storage drive I wouldnt have to replace in a year or so, so I did my research and chose the 8TB WD easystore. Everything has worked great with the hd, my only complaint is that it was not as simple as plug and play. Once I got everything updated, it has worked without any issues.

Currently using it for storing server backups locally. So far it has been perfect!

I've always had good experiences with WD external hard drives and I expect this one not to be the exception. I plan on using this for my security cameras when I install the system. I will update my review after the system is installed.
