Drive is quiet, fast, and easy setup. Not supporting WD Security is a huge drawback.

This unit gets the job done but is not as quiet as much other Seagate drives.

I've been buying WD for years now and this is the first time I've bought a product that I think may be faulty. This is the largest size External HD I've ever purchased (8TB) to store my work on (photo & videos). I just filled about 6TB of it and now it's giving me trouble being read by my laptop. I've tried on other devices and the issue remains. I've also tried my other drives and they're all recognized immediately. Not sure if it's the size or what. But, I have to plug and unplug it a lot of times before it's picked up. I can hear the poor thing buzz to life and then short stop when I pull the plug without ejecting properly. I'm afraid I'm going to damage all the files I have on it. It's a bit scary. I'll be avoiding drives this large from now.

Good product. A little noisy and requires it's own power source

Picked this up a few weeks ago for a great price. Overall I am pretty happy with it, however I have a concern. It seems to make a lot more noise over the last couple days. Almost sounds like the platter is off balance. Probably going to return and exchange if they have another in stock. Don't want to worry about it failing

Pros - Easy to setup and begin using. Quiet. Backup software easy to use. Cons - USB port requires specific cable (included), backup software doesn't give option to simply copy files. Data is compressed and doesn't allow verification.

Over the years I have had many of these drives and they have held up well

Slow to spin up, but to be expected. Great otherwise.

I purchased this to use as an external hard drive for my iMac and I've had nothing but problems with it. I do not want to have to purchase additional software to make this work. I am taking it back and will continue to search for a solution.

It is a very solid drive. Its temperature has been quite steady and quite as well.

I bought these for the drives. I could get them cheaper than buy a bare drive.

Got it on sale, no regrets it is Quiet and Works well.

The hard drive is good but the enclosure doesn't help to cool it.

Does the job and auto-backup has saved me more than I can count.
