I use this as my secondary backup drive for media. It run really quite. The only downside i see its not ssd and 16 tb lol

this one is the cheap one with no password just so you know. works great. lots of space.

I love this hard drive. As a videographer it's perfect for storing old footage, but I wouldn't recommend editing off of it!

Always a little early to review, since I purchased less than a month ago. This drive is hanging off my router to be accessible by two Win10 pc's, plus a Linux server. Since it is not a cloud device, getting it shared was not easy, which is why I rated it 4 stars. If you are not tech savvy, go for a different version. I also purchased this because of the other reviews that says this contains the highly rated WD Red drive in it.

It was easy to attach the drive and format it. Worked as expected.

Runs a little noisier than I’d like and shows scratches super easily, works nice for my purposes though. Doesn’t play nice with most blu ray players because the high capacity I assume.

It is a quick and simple way to provide more storage. Just plug-in and go. No complications. It has performed perfectly so far with no issues that I have been able to detect. Really good for a backup device.

Really nice that you can connect as a NAS OR direct attached USB storage and go back and forth as needed. Love this!

Great plug and play hard drive for my Mac Time Machine backup.

Purchased this on sale as my first external harddrive. I expected lightening fast computer recognition when connected but it took several minutes. But I kept replugging it because it did not show up as an available drive quickly enough. Once it showed up, I used it to back up my hard drives. The best part is that I took it over to my 4k tv and plugged it in the usb3 port and there was my entire harddrive. I could select movies to watch and it would load and play them flawlessly. Took it to a friends house and connected to his computer and it showed up very fast. LOVE the size. You can never have too much storage.

Found this on sale and I thought the price was very reasonable. Very easy to use and WD is an extremely reliable brand. Replaced a 3 TB WD Drive that lasted me for years.

The drive Looks great and compact. Sleek and seems well-made. So far so good.

Great product Recommendation for safe and protected all your files

Works great for backing up all of my computers and electronics. Faster than my old 3tb Seagate. Got it on sale for fair price at 139.99. Will eventually move to backup ps4 or ps5. Also is a Best Buy exclusive.

BB has lowered this drive's price on 20 days of doorbuster cheaper than BF and this was the lowest price so far $139.99. Love it. You can use immediately out of the box if you are Windows users, The drive includes the apps for you to check bad sector, S.M.A.R.T, etc... (you can download on WD website anyway). Rumor and confirm that inside is RED with 256mb cache, great price if you plan to buy multiple drive for your NAS.

Good value for the money and not putting my personal stuff out on the cloud for risk of being stolen.

The drive is quiet and performs well. Lots of storage at a low price. My only drawback is that I wasn't able to connect it to my router and use it as an online drive, but that may be because I didn't spend enough time trying to get it setup correctly for that type of use.

Not much to say. Plenty of space and Usb3. Personally used for backup of a backup then stored offsite.
