I got this during the sale for $139. I’ve been trying to decide on buying this for a year now and jumped all over it during the sale. Only problem I had is that I wanted to install internal any my bios just would not recognize this drive, no matter what I tried. Not the drives fault since it is external... Just disappointed. I already recommended to a friend and we both purchased at the same time.

Grabbed this as a Deal of the Day special. Shucked it to see which drive was inside, but it was the white label 8TB, not the red. Put it back in the enclosure, plugged it in, and scheduled my backups through Windows 10. I did not use the WD backup software they offered, so I cannot say whether it’s any better or worse than Windows. As for operation, no problems. The drive runs silently in the stock enclosure, and aside from the activity light on the front, I forget that it’s even there next to my tower.

Initially purchased a WD 'My Book' drive for myself two - three years ago. I was looking to protect all my files to prevent lose from a computer failure which happened to me several years back. So when this WD 'Easy Store' was placed on sale I purchased it as it has larger capacity than my WD 'Book' moved the 'Book' to my husband's computer and all is good! I'm old school not a big fan of the 'Cloud' for me this is a great backup drive fast and plenty of storage capacity at a very reasonable price would recommend to anyone in need of external storage, who like me isn't a 'Cloudy"! am

This external drive brings down the cost of storage to the point where you can keep all your stuff plus some. Creating a system image or using the WD backup software enables you to keep multiple backups. USB 3 is the only way to go for high speed transfer.

This was purchased to save on iCloud expansion costs. It is super easy to use and portable. Highly recommend it.

This drive is a Best Buy exclusive (not available at other retailers). I use the easystore drives as backup drives for WD My Book drives of identical size. The My Book drives serve as the primary drives while the easystore drives are used as backup drives. My general experience with using the easystore drives in this fashion is good (although I have experienced recent WD My Book drive failures).

So far this is my 4th external drive I purchase from Best Buy. All of them being a WD easystore. So far I haven't had any problems with any of them. I have used them for ps4 or xbox one storage.

This is my 3rd WD external storage device. I keep buying more because they work! They are easy to set up and manage and so far I’m happy with the this purchase and would strongly recommend WD.

I've been running this for a few months now, and all is good. No issues out of the box. Connects easily to my PC. Time will tell how it holds up, but so far no complaints.

Its a nice add for storage to my computer. We really needed the space and its helped w the variety of games I have.

I use Kodi for my home video and music library and have bought 2 of these. Previously, I've owned many WD external drives. They are solid! Dependable and affordable.

Needed additional storage for pictures and files - this external drive is perfect. So easy to use. Literally plug and play and drag and drop. Super simple.... I have used this on multiple PC's.

Bought five of these to use the drives in my new QNAP TS-873. All contained WD80-EMAZ drives, which by all accounts, are one of several "Red" equivalents. You don't get the 5-year warranty, but it's worth the tradeoff to me at this particular point in time. Getting them out was easier than I thought, and I managed to be patient and not break anything, so I still have 5 good enclosures. For the price when they're on sale, you can't beat them, whether you're using them as externals or for the drives; the enclosures don't look bad sitting on a desk, either.

Very reliable. Works well with intensive read write tasks and on all the time. Much better than Seagate (which failed quickly) and other alternatives such as USB enclosures. Recommended!

Second one I bought, since the first was excellent. Have had no issues after a year with the first one. Great price and performance. I believe this is the best drive you can get at this price.

Solid performance. Quick write time. Very quick pulling files.
