Very necesssary for storage, quiet and a very decent price. Also very stable. Good for computers more than game consoles

You can't go wrong with 8Tb. So much space, only problem is sometimes the drive is temperamental and you have to wait to wake up. But for the price, I'll deal with it

Lots of storage space for the money. Western Digital makes good products, haven'y had any issued wioth their products.

It's very fast, and works well in general.. however it seems to disconnect itself or "fall asleep" semi-frequently and will no open folders, without me unplugging it and plugging it back in. Feels like it's trying to crash on me two months in.

Great product. Definately worth ever cent especially with all the power outages lately. Greatful to Best Buy for having product in stock at my local store.

I have been relying on WD almost exclusively for ALL my storage needs be it internal or external for the last decade+ and count ONE drive that has failed me in which they were able to both fix under warranty and recover my data! I ABSOLUTELY recommend them for reliable data storage and encourage you to check our their SSD internal and external lines as well. ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY PENNY! Trust me, I'm a tech god! Also, SUPER easy to use! Just plug and play!

I've had good luck in the past with WD hard drives so this should hold up as well.

I now have two 7 TB hard drive hooked up to my desktop. Hopefully I will never run out of space again. This hard drive was an excellent price

Got this for the Series X for more storage. Works great for holding games that don't need to be played on the internal drive. Added a 1TB SSD for good measure!

Using it for my xbox. Worked like a charm. Easy to use. No other software needed.

This is a great drive for backup and with 8tb of space, it can hold a lot of data. Easy to hook up and use. Great price also.

This Western Digital 8TB External Drive performs as expected. I purchased it to supplement my other WD external drives as my data continues to expand.

Still kicking after several years, outlasting several smaller drives.

Initially bought a 4 but decided to upgrade to an 8 when there was a smaller difference in price.

Inside this enclosure, at least the two I bought plus 10 more bought by various friends, are WD Red server-grade 8TB hard drives. There are numerous videos on YouTube showing how to "shuck" the plastic case and remove the hard drive, then usable in your NAS box or other servers. If you're just using the drive as an attached 8TB external, this is a particularly high quality hard drive to have in a $139 package. Now, for the props to Best Buy -- I bought two of these at $159.99 on Black Friday. They went on sale for $139.99 on December 7. I called up Best Buy and asked (politely) for a price adjustment. They approved the adjustments, including crediting back the portion of sales tax for the $20 per drive refunds. I would absolutely do business with Best Buy again.
