Very quiet when its running, a bit of noise when its doing read/write. If anyone is wondering these have a WD Reds inside with 256mb cache, 5400 rpm. All in all great deal and a great drive! Use it every day.

Fantastic drive. Purchased to backup my home computer. Works great. Fairly quick drive. Very easy to install. Using a product called CloudBerry to backup to it and it just works. Backups are smooth and easy.

this item goes on sale around black friday. Good when it is priced at $120 (new). I think going into 2021, the 12 and 14 TB will be more affordably priced. I've bought two 8TB and two 12 TB when on sale at Best Buy. I have heard that some people shuck these and these are the White Label drives. Good for NAS and home Plex servers.
Best Buy is really great for buying many products when on sale.

I picked this hard drive up on Black Friday for an excellent price. We will be backing up and uploding every photo we have ever taken and look forward to the ample space left over for many years to come. Pretty simple external hard drive. You plug it in and connect to computer and instant 8 TB of storage. Its very easy, highly functional, and very affordable. I ordered it online and toon advantage of free in-store pickup. The entire process was seemless.

8TB is just what i need to store 4K videos. I would have preferred the Cloud capability, but this is good to just store a lot of family photos and videos that i have been collecting over the last 15 years.

Still kicking after several years, outlasting several smaller drives.

I've owned my fair share of external drives ranging in size. The Western Digital 8TB drive has lasted me well so far. I have had similar drives from Seagate and those failed on me after only a couple years.

At the price this is a great value for the size. Perfect to back up tons of media. It’s not a question if your external device will fail...it’s when. So this drive is a great way to add lots of redundancy.

Great add on for my PS5. Fast quite and reliable. I always highly recommend Western Digital.

I bought this WD easystore 8TB to replace my 500GB external USB hard drive when it died. This is a huge upgrade in terms of HD capacity. I connect the WD easysotre to a docking station so whenever I plug in my 2-in-1, Windows File History would back up my working documents on an hourly basis.
8TB provides adequate capacity for my backup purposes. The black case, in an upright position, fits my working area well and does not take up a lot of space.
I was lucky enough to receive the 7200 rpm HDD. My HDD is 5400 rpm. It always takes time for it to spin up for the hourly backups. The spin-up always gives me a little hiccup as I work (type, type, type) on my 2-in-1. The HDD is noisier than I prefer as it reads and writes -- but I can live with it.
As a backup drive, this WD easystore serves my purposes.

You get a lot of space for your $ on this one. This drive is not one of WD's higher end drives though so I'd recommend using it purely as a backup drive and not relying on it as an everyday working drive.
