Needed some more storage space. After reading the reviews I purchased 2 of these drives to shuck. The 2 I received were indeed WD Red drives. Worked great and nearly doubled by current raid setup.

Great storage option. Only issue was I bought it and there was an even bigger storage option went on sale. No worries this will do for a while.

Great for extra disk space. Move your pictures, and videos to it to free up space on your primary drive.

Although purchased as a gift, this is one of many Western Digital drives I've purchased over the years, and have never had any issues with them (aside from running out of space). Easy to set up and to move files to. Quick delivery, especially during the busy holiday season!

I grabbed two of these to set up a NAS with a Raspberry Pi 4. They are working just fine for what I am using them for. I can't complain.

I have about 10 of these ranging from 2 TB to 8 TB, and use them to store/backup RAW photos as well as processed images. They work well, store a ton, and I've never had one fail (knock on wood).

Got an excellent price on this item at Best Buy during a sale. It seems to work fine although set up was a bit confusing. Not really plug and play. It does make some noise. Not totally quiet. The real test is if it will last, and how long, so since i’ve Only had it for about a month, this review is not conclusive.

This external has a very nice professional NAS level WD Red drive inside. The drive manufacture date is recent and it's very reliable. Only regret is not getting it on even more of a discount :D

Great price and would not pass up this drive. Able to store all my documents and old family pictures. And still have room to add more.

The 8TB EASYSTORE is super quiet while the 8TB My Book Desktop drive had an annoying low pitched vibration that could be heard and felt as it sat on my desk. In comparison, the EASYSTORE is dead silent and I don't even notice it. The 8TB WD EASYSTORE costs more than the 8TB My Book Desktop HDD but it is well worth it to me . It is rumored that the 8TB EASYSTORE uses the higher quality WD Red NAS disk which is known to be quiet and reliable.

Does what is made to do; backup my docs. It just sits there quietly in the background on autopilot working away. This is my fourth WD backup unit.

Excellent hard drive for backing up videos and photos. This is my 4th one I’ve bought more reliable than the other brands.

Fantastic price for tons of storage. This western digital storage device is, as usual, easy to unpack and install. 8 GB might seem like a lot in storage but certainly will hold for the future.

I got this Hard Drive to back up my important files and I heard it works great for a Plex server! I recommend it!

I just got a new camera and higher end gaming computer for processing photos and videos but needed more room for storage. I wasn't really looking for so much as 8TB, but saw this on a deal of the deal (for slightly under 50% of the current price). With the great customer ratings, it was too good a value to pass up. Easy to install and so far, works great. Assuming it lasts, it will be a long time before I need any more storage.
