In comparison, the EASYSTORE is dead silent and I don't even notice it. The 8TB WD EASYSTORE costs more than the 8TB My Book Desktop HDD but it is well worth it to me . It is rumored that the 8TB EASYSTORE uses the higher quality WD Red NAS disk which is known to be quiet and reliable.

It seems to work fine although set up was a bit confusing. Not really plug and play. It does make some noise. Not totally quiet. The real test is if it will last, and how long, so since i’ve Only had it for about a month, this review is not conclusive.

Found at a GREAT price...all I'll ever need?

I wasn't really looking for so much as 8TB, but saw this on a deal of the deal (for slightly under 50% of the current price). With the great customer ratings, it was too good a value to pass up. Easy to install and so far, works great. Assuming it lasts, it will be a long time before I need any more storage.

Steady Performer

This one works fine but it is noisy compared to the My Passport. There is a steady thump thump sound when it is on. I have been able to archive a lot of files to it.
