It is nice to have the piece of mind that all of my data is safe on this external hard drive. Data transfers are quick, and it's nice to have it connected to my NAS using the USB 3.0 port.

I got this to replace a 4tb My Passport drive because I was running out of room. This one works fine but it is noisy compared to the My Passport. There is a steady thump thump sound when it is on. I have been able to archive a lot of files to it.

Bought this as a backup for my readynas. So far it works well. Relatively fast for a usb device, and you can't beat the price for 8tb.

I already had a 10TB Western Digital external drive and bought this one for a different desktop....they both are excellent storage drives...

Shucked Easily. Mounted it in my UNAS 8 Bay DAS and it worked perfectly. Would buy another one at 119.99 when they get back to that price.

I used to think 2tb was enough then I moved on to 4tb now that my music and movies have outgrown my 4tb this is the next stage in digital storage. You can not go wrong with a WD product.

This is a good and reliable 8TB external hard drive for my Windows-10 laptop computer, and my desktop computer. I use it to store backups.

These have been popping up on sale lately for between $149 to $199 which makes these a steal. If you just need a back up drive, you get a ton of storage for a great price. In my case, I needed it to replace a dead drive in my NAS. Inside these (as of writing) are standard size WD Red drives which are perfect for my needs. At the sale price, it's significantly less than buying a retail 8tb WD Red. Local Bestbuy had them in stock and staff was great.

I back up my pc to this, then back this up to cloud. This is not the first WD I have used, and I have been problem free. I would buy again, if needed. That's a lot of bytes for the money.

Great drive and highly portable. Will Look great on your desk. I had to purchase a second one since I already filled up the first one.

I wanted to do a back up for a PC I have and didn't want to put the files on my network drive. This external drive is big and it is USB only which is what I was looking for. Worked fine.

Good storage device, but sometimes freezes and have to force task end and retry.

First one purchased was defective.. the connector on the hard drive did not line up. Thankfully BB swapped it out for me.. I have the same drive I purchased 2 years ago.. still going strong.. these are connected to the Xbox x and Xbox 1
