I already had a 10TB Western Digital external drive and bought this one for a different desktop....they both are excellent storage drives...

There is a lot of storage space for your pictures and home videos and other backup that you need. This is not the small portable laptop version but it sits nicely on a desk and requires a separate ac outlet to work. It makes a clicking noise on data access once in a while but it's quiet otherwise.

Shucked Easily. Mounted it in my UNAS 8 Bay DAS and it worked perfectly. Would buy another one at 119.99 when they get back to that price.

Bought this as a backup for my readynas. So far it works well. Relatively fast for a usb device, and you can't beat the price for 8tb.

I got this Hard Drive to back up my important files and I heard it works great for a Plex server! I recommend it!

This is a good and reliable 8TB external hard drive for my Windows-10 laptop computer, and my desktop computer. I use it to store backups.

Using it for computer backup - certainly a great price and smaller than I anticipated. I have gotten errors a couple of times about not being able to complete a backup. But I just restart everything & it works fine. My computer repair person recommended it so I really didn't do much research.

Western Digital simplicity. Lives up to its Easy name and is easy to set up and immediately starting adding files to the drive. Using on USB 2.0 desktop and no problems connecting.

The performance of this drive is pretty good, I purchased this to use as a Steam games drive in my computer, but it can also be used with the Xbox One, PS4, or any other game console that supports USB storage. If you don't mind opening it up, you'll find a regular 3.5" desktop SATA drive with performance similar to the WD RED line of drives, you may even find a WD RED inside depending on how old the stock is.

First one purchased was defective.. the connector on the hard drive did not line up. Thankfully BB swapped it out for me.. I have the same drive I purchased 2 years ago.. still going strong.. these are connected to the Xbox x and Xbox 1

Great drive and highly portable. Will Look great on your desk. I had to purchase a second one since I already filled up the first one.

Although purchased as a gift, this is one of many Western Digital drives I've purchased over the years, and have never had any issues with them (aside from running out of space). Easy to set up and to move files to. Quick delivery, especially during the busy holiday season!

For the price you can't beat it if all you need is portable storage. Quick note though if you are planning on running media (Music, Videos, Pictures, etc.) on it from most TV's or Blue Ray Players you need to format at least 4 partitions of 2 TB before putting files on the drive as they tend not to recognize hard drives larger than 2 TB. Also the data transfer cord stays connected much better in this model than in previous models.

Love this drives. They are great for extra storage. So far they have lasted well and given no problems. Run quiet.

I love these drives and have several of them. I haven't had good success with the reliability of other brands, but WD has never let me down.
