Best part was it was easy to set up and start using. Next it has a ton of storage so that is a huge plus. I don’t notice much of a difference in speed though from usb 3 to my 3 port. Seems about average in speed. Would recommend this product for the average home user like myself.

I've had my eye on a sale on 2 external hard drives for months. At the price best Buy offered this 8 terabyte external hard drive for $ 123.00 I had to have 2. Very quiet hard drive. Sturdy. 3.0 usb drive. Great looking. Came packaged perfectly. Looks great. I'm extremely happy with my purchases. Arrived in two days. Highly recommended. I don 't think you'll be disappointed.

Replacing a seagate 3TB drive that died. Easily reformatted to macOS. Is going to take a while to fill this up. Planning to host my iTunes music and movies on this drive

What can I say? It is a hard drive and it holds all of my files. It hasn’t died yet and for that I am grateful.

Good hard drive. Get it on deal of the day. Runs good and avout 130 megabyte per second trasfer over usb 3.

Plug and play. Device recognized it right away. It asked me a few questions about how I would like to store my data. Never have had to look back. Just the way I like it.

Overall Review: Bought two 10 gig on sale to build a poor man's RAID1. I'm a recording engineer and I need to backup my WAV files. (You'd be surprised how often I get the "do you still have that recording you made for me 4 years ago" call) I didn't want any hardware encryption ala the My Book Duo and its associated horror stories, just backup. Zip tied two of these together, and use FastCopy to move the files.Since these have no built-in fans, the drives run a little warm. It's probably OK, but my OC nature was looking for reassurance. So with more zip ties, I added a 80mm fan on top of the two enclosures. I used a magnetic bearing fan that runs super quiet (as a recording engineer, I hate loud fans). Wanting to get the fan away from the drives, I zipped the fan on top of a "chimney". (Zip ties: the engineer's duct tape.) Probably not necessary, but remember I'm Mr. OC. The fan runs || with one enclosure's power supply. Looks janky but works great: cool, quiet, cheap. Now I'm just hoping both drives don't die at the same time.

Good price for 8TB external drive. Transfers from this drive to NAS drive over GigEthernet connection at 60MB/sec. Not the fastest rate, but still very good performance.

Bought this to consolidate several computers worth of pictures, documents, games, movies onto one drive. Should be able to fit everything onto this. Here's to hoping...

Seagate external HD was giving me issues. So I got this one. It was an easy set up. It is sturdy and no issues yet so far.

Warning NOT for PS5! Not fast enough to cold store PS5 games, but you can store ps4 games. Space for days and days and days.

Large external hard drive. I use it for Time Machine backups and file storage. It always stays connected and is quite fast.

The price for this 8TB hard drive can not be beat. I opened the case with some fine pointed tools and guitar picks to find a Red NAS drive. To be more specific it was: WD Red 8TB NAS Hard Disk Drive - 5400 RPM Class SATA 6 Gb/s 128MB Cache 3.5 Inch I expect thus drive to perform like my other WD red drives. They have a fantastic realibility record both from online reviewed and through my own personal usage.

Excellent drive for the money. I use it to back up video files, and I have had no problems with it. It's performed flawless.
