I needed a hard drive to back up computer - as my computer had pictures that slowed it down plus this was a way not to lose any of my pictures

I couldn't believe the price on these during Best Buy's Xmas sale. I grabbed 3 of them to backup my Terabytes of data. Haven't had any issues.

It’s a good back up drive plenty of space can be shocked if you had to put it in to the case

My go pro was taking up all the room on my computer this external hard drive can save all my videos without filling up my computer hard drive.

My husband bought this for the storage of his graphics. He said it was easy to set up (he has a Mac.)

good fast pretty quiet HDD, but for long copy using cooling pad - temperature gets high - recommended by WD 35 Celsius - get high till 45-47! .... Will not last long like that. 2 years warranty pretty ok, but I will stick with MY Book model - 3 years, just for instance. Included Software is pathetic pretty much. WD- it is 21 century already! Come on.

Got it on sale and perfect for the original ps4 with only 500 gb... downloaded all games from library that I had to delete for lack of memory

Har drive hasnt failed me, mostly purchased it to hold my ps4 games and its working like a charm

Picked this up during the 20 days of Christmas sale, best thing ever if you use it to store all your downloaded games on XBox1. Main reason for purchase was due to the lack of space for newly purchased games. Fast, economical, and efficient.

Western Digital hard drives are great products. I used this one to backup HD videos and pictures.

I bought two for my kids Xbox storage. Hooked them up and both worked great. I have a WD external HD for my Xbox and it has lasted for years.

The write speed on this hard drive is faster than any external USB 3 hard drives I've had. It's also quiet. I will definitely get another one.

Large external harddrive, 4 stars because it works out of the box, 5 stars will come if it lasts more than its warranty. Pros: -Large capacity, 8.001 trillion bytes, or more simply 7.24 terabytes of space. -Easy setup for Windows, plug it in and you're ready to start using your new harddrive. -Power saving, the harddrive will go to sleep once it isn't being used, this extends the harddrives lifespan. Something to note is it requires an outlet to be powered, as well as an empty usb port to connect to your computer. Overall a simple product for any storage needs, its true worth will be tested in time, but so far everything is as advertised.

WD USB connectors have made me nervous with portable models, but this desktop design seems to do better. Fast access on a new iMac made file transfers much better with lots of room.

I've always had WD hard drives. When I saw this one on sale, I didn't hesitate to pull the trigger on it. Just an FYI for those of you who are going to use this on an iMac. I have formatted it as Journal & I have a problem with it not showing up for quite a while. I have to run WD Drive Utilities every time I start up my machine. By the time the test has almost completed.....the drive shows up in Finder. Other than that, it works fine. It's pretty quick & quiet. Can't really complain about it for the short price I paid. Maybe this issue was reflected in the price? Hmmm

Pros: Resonable price for large capacity, works well with samba and plex, can be used as an internal drive is you are willing to open the case Cons: None at this time. I am using this as a storage drive fro my home samba server and plex tv server. So far it is fantastic. It is reachable over the network via shar and gives me 7.75 TB of storage. Which makes me happy. The price for it at the time was good so I am happy with the purchase. I bought this particular drive because if I want I can take it out of it's shell and use it as an internal drive.
