This is a great value especially if you are an elite plus rewards member I’ve had very good luck with these western digital drives and this drive presents a great value for holding all of my media for my home media server.

I bought this drive to make room on my home "server." I serve music and movies from this drive, the capacity lets me store all my movies, all my music, all my photos, all my documents, and all my backups on one drive. I know it sounds risky, but I bought two, one as a backup. The drive was easy to set up (USB3), it's reasonably fast, and has enough capacity that I should be able to use it for years.

Exactly what I wanted from an external HDD: good speed, tons of space (8TB!!!) and so far very reliable. Using the multimedia server quite a lot and it plays almost all formats. The only format I had problems with are 4k movies with Dolby vision.

Western Digital make a wonderful product. It is easy to use and last a long time. I have used their products in several venues and have always found them to be superior to Lacie, gateway and other drives. It is indeed a best buy.

Recently I started to realize that I had digital media, documents, music, and irreplaceable family photos stored all over my home office on a variety of devices. I have CDs, DVD's, thumb drives, SD cards, computer files, and yes cloud storage, even some old floppies. I also have that pile of actual paper photographs that I keep meaning to scan into my computer. Well I finally did something about it. I purchased the WD - easystore® 8TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive and have not regretted it once. It took a couple of days to sort everything out but I put it all on this device. I also backed up my wife's computer as well as mine, along wirh our laptop, and continue to do so and still have 81% of the drives capacity left. I chose this over a NAS device for it's portability. I will be purchasing a second unit to replicate this one for off site storage. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and highly recommend it.

My mom loves WD and she had 2tb before so I upgraded her to a 8th and she loves this.

Great product It’s hard to believe you can get ahead 8 TB USB external drive for $160

For all of the photos that I take for my kids sports teams I just needed more space. This external drove is easy to use out of the box, allows me to have so more storage outside of my internal storage space. Great price would get another once I fill this one!

Tons of storage for a great price! Highly recommend for backing up those large files.

Only been using for a few months - the hope with hard drives is they run for years before failure. At this point I'm very pleased with it. The USB 3.0 is roughly 5 times faster than the earlier USB 2.0 drives. Copying and backing up is very fast.

Works great . I am able to backup all my home video and pictures with space to spare.

About $150 for 8TB and it's shuckable. You will get either a WD Red or White drive.

I am using it as a backup drive and I formatted it into 3 drives. No issues so far.
