Big Backup but it's noisy and loud

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like that it has 8 TB for a full backups of several of our systems but it makes a lot of noise and sounds clunking in the background while it's reading/writing. Not sure if this is normal. Our other WD products are quiet. Have to dismount it from auto backup because it is so noisy and loud. Then re-engage when needed. Not ideal since remembering to do so could be overlooked.

WD easystore 8TB - easy choice

Big drive is a big deal

Until SSDs become cheap and roomy, there will be a need for platters like these: big, reliable and server grade. Just shucked 2 to put in a WD My Cloud Ex2 Ultra RAID 1...

Very reliable HD

I’ve had this drive for over a year and I use it strictly as a back up to my Mac. It’s fast, reliable and you can’t beat the price for safe quality storage.
