Great back up drive with lots of storage for backing up main drive and having plenty of room for other files. Easy setup for Mac. Just had to re-format for Mac and then was able to set up Time Machine for backing up main drive. Great drive at a great price!

Great amount of space for the price, a real bang for the buck. Have had no problem with reliability with this brand. The speeds will not be the fastest of course, but it's a good drive to act as a backup for your files.

Plugged it in and followed steps. Set up was easy. Initial upload took hours but now it uploads nightly and I feel better about my photos and videos being stored safely.

A big hard drive and works like it should. Stores thousands of HD and 4K videos.

Western Digital hard drives are great products. I used this one to backup HD videos and pictures.

When I saw the price of this in the store and read the reviews others had left I knew this purchase was a no brainer! I bought it to use on my new iMac. I plan on doing a lot of video editing on the iMac and since that will now include 4k video I knew I needed to go big with an external HDD. This is indeed a Red drive hidden in the housing. I did have some issues getting both my old windows machine and my new iMac both recognizing the drive at the same time. A call to WD took care of that. The tech helped me get the drive visible on both machines so I could get all of my info off of the windows machine and then setup the drive to work on the new iMac. I will say that if you haven't accessed it for a bit that it's slow to start up again. It also makes a strange ticking noise. Took me awhile to figure out that the noise was coming from the drive. Don't lean it against a wall or you'll waste too much time trying to find the source of the drip behind the walls! It will take me quite awhile to fill this drive up since I already transferred all of my info from past computers to this one and I've barely touched the space.

use it as expanded storage for the ps4. work great.

Perfect and exactly what we needed, would buy again

I bought this drive to make room on my home "server." I serve music and movies from this drive, the capacity lets me store all my movies, all my music, all my photos, all my documents, and all my backups on one drive. I know it sounds risky, but I bought two, one as a backup. The drive was easy to set up (USB3), it's reasonably fast, and has enough capacity that I should be able to use it for years.
