I bought this on sale on Black Friday for $150.00 and you can not beat it! This is still the one with a WD Red drive in it and it runs great in the enclosure it is in. My original plan was to take it apart but I am able to place it in a well ventilated area so I left it alone... The WD Red drive that is in this thing on it's own costs around $220.00 so it's a freaking steal!

Great price for an 8 TB drive. I have several computers and two cellphones I need to back up pictures on. This allows me to do it locally.

Easy to setup and use. Have been using it for 10 months now. Great for keeping space available on the computer. Use it for back up of my computer and photo storage mainly. Have plenty of storage space still available. Just what I needed.

I struggled to choose which external HD I wanted, but it came down to personal preference. I can't believe, I transferred all the files from my old external hard drive onto this one, plus files from the computer and there's still a ton of room for more! My computer actually runs a lot better and faster since I removed files and put them on the WD-easystore!

For the sale price these drives can't be beat. More reliable than the sea brand and for those interested inside are Red model drives which if purchased as an internal are $100 more. Yes, the warranty is 1 year less than internal drives but for $100 it's worth it IMO. They aren't the fastest 8tb drives but they run cooler and that helps lend to a longer life span.

voided the warranty immediately and broke the drive out of the case to use in my desktop. The drive works great to replace a failing backup drive in my desktop computer. It was $70 cheaper to buy it in the external case rather than buy it loose.

Good price, good performance, reliable brand. Not much more to say about the drive.
The same rule applies to ALL backup drives... Make sure you do a healthcheck on the drive before you "use it". The scan will take 10+ hours. I ended up using a free tool I found on WD's website.

Excellent for backing up files! I do a lot conversion of photos to videos and want to make sure my works-in-process are safely backed-up, so I don't lose any of my work in progress. Very easy to use and I am very happy with my decision to use this for my back-ups.

It's an 8 TB external hard drive. Good speed and great capacity, never thought I would need so much space but with 5 TB of Videos, Audio & Data you do need it. Real easy setup, just plug into a usb 3 port, let the PC identify the drive and start copying.

Best Buy Deal of the Day had this device for an unbelievable price-- I think it was less than half the cost of the bulk OEM same-drive-in-a-bag. I am sure that the software and housing work great, but I shucked-out the drive for use in a server. It was easy.

A good basic external HD. I formatted it to work with my Mac, and it only took 5 minutes from the time I opened the box to the time it was set up and ready to go. If you’re looking for a good, simple external HD at a great value, this is it!

Got it on sale making it a solid deal. Mine has been running in the enclosure for almost a year now. I do use an 80mm USB fan to help pull warm air through the enclosure.
A cool hard drive is a happy hard drive.
Or something like that.

Well constucted external usb drive. Write true read write usb around 86 mbs. Not terrible for a usb external drive. Easy enough to open and turn to an internal drive for better performance. Like all hard drives, you will pay a premium thanks to chia

Just plug in and ready to go, This is my second- plenty of useable space for all of my music, docs, pictures, back-ups. Not bad looking sitting on the desk just have to keep the dust off- would reccomend to be an essential component of any system.
