Easy setup and a lot of storage. Can’t complain, got my money worth

Ive had a lot of external hd's in the past, and recently jumped in to buy this because i wanted to use it as a media device on my network. 8TB is a lot of space.. only thing i dont like is the spin up time, it takes a bit to open. not too long, but i wish that time could be reduced. anyways its been reliable so far. no complaints.

We were looking for an external hard drive for our Xbox One this was the Best Buy we could find including looking online it was actually cheaper to go with an a terabyte than 4 terabyte really happy with it easy to hook up and use

I've only had this HD a few weeks but so far, so good. I purchased it as a backup drive for my home theatre media server, which is an older Mac Mini but running the latest version OS. BTW, I'm anxious for Apple to update the Mini so I can replace my old one. I use it for storing all my music, iPhone tones, Podcasts, and a ton of movies and video. All that content is stored on two external HD's so I needed an even larger HD to back everything up. I'd been looking at NAS servers but the price was a bit prohibitive right now. Then I saw this HD on sale at BestBuy and leaped on it. The drive spends most of its time stored in a cabinet and is only periodically connected to do a Time Machine backup, then again put away. My only dig was it being formatted FAT32, thus the 4 stars. It wasn't a problem formatting it, just an annoyance that in this age, with the ever increasing popularity of Apple's ecosystem in both the consumer and enterprise market that WD doesn't readily offer drives in Apple's format. Hopefully, I won't need to once again buy an even larger backup HD for a year or so without drive makers offering much larger HD's at a reasonable price. I imagine I'll eventually have to end up buying a NAS so I can more readily swap out its drives as needed, but for now, this Western HD is doing the job.

I've purchase two of these for raw storage and they hold up very well. Quick seek time on 3.0. Wish it had the ability to be on a Ethernet but that's an upgraded model. Only reason I have given it a 4/5 the other I purchased had to be replaced within a year. Again manufacturer did a good job replacing but just lost some data due to bad sectors on the drive.

Got it on sale and have been very satisfied. I use it on a Mac so make sure to use the WD utility to format the drive instead of Disk Utilities

I picked this up during a sale where it was discounted over 50%! This drive will soon be connected to my network and serving up my entire library of 500+ DVD/Blu-ray titles. Terrific value for this enormous and versatile hard disk.

Very easy to setup, no unnecessary software or drivers to install. Works perfectly out of the box. My only issue is that I need all of my drives to sit horizontally, and this unit only has rubberized feet for sitting vertically.

Worked well and no complaint. With the discount, priced perfectly.

I bought this to use as external storage for my ps4. It does the job. It gave my a nice 8TB buffer to my current storage. It was easy to install and setup and I had no issues with it.

The hard drive is quiet and fast. Fit the purpose as stated in box.

I purchased this item as a supplement to the hard drive on my X Box one. It was easy to setup and very reliable. I would definitely recommend this item for anyone needing to store large files.

Drives are getting so cheap per GB. Drive works as expected. Pretty compact, but could be smaller.
