I've run into some problems with the application that it comes with. It constantly opens the admin Ui to ask permission to make changes on the computer. It also occasionally keeps the computer running and making noise after the computer has been put to sleep.

Was running low on storage space and purchased this drive while it was on sale. At $20 a TB, it's a good deal. The WD Red drive inside the case make it a great deal. I''ll be set on storage space for quote some time.

Drive works great as these tend to do. Fast and no crazy encryption on the controller board, so you can easily rescue your data if the electronics fail. I shuck mine pretty quickly though. The drive in the enclosure I got is the white box version of the 8tb wd red. Keep in mind that there was a SATA POWER spec change recently so if you have an old psu and the bare drive won’t spin up it’s because of the change. You can fix the problem either by taping over pin 3 of the power connector with a tiny piece of tape. Or getting a new power supply. Or using a molex to sata power adapter (which for unrelated reasons does not trigger the problem) I do not recommend the adapter for long term use as most of them are badly made and flaky.

Used to backup all my systems using Veeam free backup.

These are at a great price point now and work really well. I can't speak to longevity, but the current batch of these should have RED drive in it. On sale, this is far cheaper than buying REDs if you have a NAS.

Great External Hard Drive. Storage for all your needs.

I've been using this external hard drive for a number of months. It is slow and hangs up often even with a new laptop. I've used this external hard drive on both an older computer and a new computer and it still has the same problems. I do not recommend the purchase of this hard drive.

Never go wrong with a WD product. This one was easy to set up for my MacBook Pro. The store shipped my order quickly so the transaction was as good as the WD Drive.

I love having this because I can plug it in to my PC whenever I want and free up space on my PC by safely backing up my large files. Still working fine for me after much use.

This product was relatively easy to set up, and will be very beneficial in storing my music, writings, photos, etc. I prefer using this product over using the cloud. It easily stores other important written documents.

Great product. Even allows you to download documents direct from google docs, however I wish you could do the same from google photos or other services like mydrive

It holds lots of data because that is what it is for.

Good drives, I shucked them and use them in my NAS really good value for the product. Easy to shuck and use. Been running fine for close to a year now.
