This is an excellent hard drive that is easy to use. The only problem I had was at initial installation. Performance of the system was poor, the bluetooth connectivity was seriously impacted, the keyboard basically not working. Not much help looking around; however, one article indicated there was a Windows version and an Apple version: maybe I got the Apple version. A quick formatting of the drive took care of the performance issues. Backup works well and because I use the drive primarily for backing up, I uninstalled the other 2 programs Overall it is a dependable device.

SO FAR NO COMPLAINTS WITH THIS REPLACEMENT, I HAD TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE OF WD-Easystore BECAUSE THE UNIT STOPPED WORKING. I RECOMMEND TOTAL TECH SUPPORT PURCHASE

The storage I get from this hard drive is great. Great buy.

good large capacity for backup VM and PC images and setup is really quick basically just plug, power up then play.

A big solid high capacity drive. It uses an external power supply and is the size of a very large paperback book, so it takes up space, but is reasonable fast and quite. It has a lot of room for storage and can be used as a drive or you can use the auto-backup software included (I didn't)/ So far, no problems.

I bought this to 'shuck' it so I could use it in my NAS. While the drive does work fine for this, you need to know a couple things. First of all I did not get a WD Red, the one I have has a white label. These are becoming more common. The cache on mine is 256MB, but 128MB cache is also becoming more common. Second of all, these drives may not work with your power supply. If you read up on these white-label drives, you will see that you may either need to apply tape to some of the pins on the power connector or use a IDE to SATA converter to power it, otherwise it will not work correctly. It's still good for it's price, I'm just disappointed they don't use Reds like they used to.

This external hard drive performs excellent. Feel secure having it on all the time when connected to my computer. It is compact and does not interfere with other attachments.

This hard drive comes on sale regularly for 150 bucks. Wait for that sale, and you will never regret buying this. The 4tb version I believe goes on sale from 300 to 70 bucks? So worth it.

Bought this to backup media files and movies to clear space on my main harddrive.. it's got plenty of space and with the USB 3.0 connector i can transfer huge quantities of files in no time...

This hard drive was a great deal when I bought it. I love Western Digital and this hard drive works as expected.

I purchased this hard drive for an external drive for my PS4. It works great! The games transferred over to the hard drive without any issues.

Got this drive to strap on to a mini pc to run as a media server, and it works excellent. Fairly quiet for a desktop drive, and so far working perfectly. Always go for WD!

I've been using this external hard drive for a number of months. It is slow and hangs up often even with a new laptop. I've used this external hard drive on both an older computer and a new computer and it still has the same problems. I do not recommend the purchase of this hard drive.

Needed a large external storage and was tired of several smaller sized devices cluttering my work area so chose this device. So far so good, easy to convert to Mac and no problems encountered.

I originally purchased a WD Easystore 10TB hard drive for my son who enjoys gaming on the PS4. When we hooked it up it wouldn't format giving us a message that it wasn't compliable with the system. Apparently the largest hard drive a PS4 can handle is an 8TB. Next step was to return the WD10 model and buy this unit which was a step down and am now reviewing. We hooked up the WD Easystore 8TB and everything went as planned. Easy formatting with the PS4 now 8TB bigger!

From what I can tell this is working good so far. Need to just make sure it continues to work well over time.
