If you can get this drive on sale the 8tb drive has a WD Red drive in it that is a great buy compared to other options.

I own two of these. I don't know how they work as external drives since I took them out of their enclosures to use in a server. As far as drive quality though, I've had no problems. Good price per terabyte.

This is my 2nd easy store HD and the backup software doesn’t work automatically like my previous one. The setup is not plug & play like my previous one either.

This hard drive worked well with my Tablo four-tuner DVR. It handled four simultaneous recordings while playing a movie via my Roku media player without skipping a beat.

Paid like $125 for it. Fair priced. I've seen some other 8tb hardrives go for alot more. Real simple to use. Plugged into ps4 and the ps4 asked to format external drive and I said ok. Easy as that. Took like 2 minutes.

Stores everything and then some. I have always had good luck with western digital products.

Great deal on this drive, but even at $20 more, it would be a fantastic deal. Highly reliable hard drive inside the enclosure and part of a strong backup strategy.

I have a 3TB WD external drive, but needed more space. Couldn't believe the value I received on this drive. Plug and play, and everything works smoothly.

Tons of space. Hides well behind a monitor. Take no time to format and install. USB 3.0 transfers quickly. Great addition if you need the space.

turned it on. It worked. It's 8gb. I might take it apart and put the ****er in my box... usb 3.0 is still kinda slow IMHO. No issues. meh.

Was looking for something to store backups from my main computer. Wasn't expecting to get so much storage for such a great price. Easy to set up too.

This hard drive is used as a back up to two computers and stores thousands of pictures and many documents. Back up is seamless and set for automatic.

Had them now for over two years running 24/7 and no issues ! I recommend this unit. Beat to wait when they drop the price to $129.99 per unit.

I bought this to use for media. It hold lots of music and videos. Thinking about buying another one to put in the shop! Just plug and play!

Using this item for additional xbox storage space. Works perfectly and allows for more gaming! Sleek style and takes up very little space.

I was debating between this and a Seagate hdd for my xbox one. Previously I had a 5tb Seagate that quit working. I ended up going with western digital because it was quite a bit cheaper and honestly, you can't go woo bgg with western digital or Seagate. I like that this hard drive stands vertical, it includes a power cord and USB. Works perfect on the xbox one, only crazy thing is you have to format it on a computer and then on the xbox. Already that is what I was prompted to do. Just an extra step, after that it works flawlessly.

Overall nice. I needed enough space to backup my photos and Adobe Lightroom catalog.

Pros: - Read/write speed is great(about 200MB/s) so it's even faster than USB 3.0 sticks. Guess it contains a decent HDD inside. - Huge capacity. 8TB = 7.27 TiB - Does not make noise. Cons - It's AC powered. You should carry both 3.0 cable and adapter. - Somewhat bulky, not so portable compared to other external HDD... But compared to its capacity its okay. Its huge capacity is perfect for backup things, such as my photo, videos on my travel, etc. But it's not portable, so may be used as my backup machine. I'd want to get a 4TB version afterward if I need portable one. Very satisfied.
