Great Product. I have 7 of these drives. Most are larger than 8TB but 8TB is the largest drive to use with sony Playstation 4 and 5.

Large Storage at a Reasonable Price When on Sale. Noise levels are reasonable, and I am happy with the transfer speeds .

fly right on down to best buy if you want some good machines,but make sure you've got a decent computer that can keep up with its revolutionary 5gb speed--i had to get a new one because my old one was always catching up-

I've bought about 20+ of these (yes, literally twenty or more drives) and they're incredible. Never had a single one fail. The drives are whisper quiet, small enough to throw into a corner, and makes it easy to head to your in-laws or parents and back up their data and haul it home for an offsite backup. I highly recommend these drives to ANYONE looking for some serious portable store. If you're like me you'll find yourself collecting these every time they go on sale.

I needed space, and alot more space, and this device provided the needs. It's no SSD, but if you consider how much a 80gb hard drive used to cost, This is a bargain you can't go wrong with.

Bought two of these to use for offloading games from my Playstation & Xbox consoles. Helps to free up space on the game drive and you can actually use it to play the games when you connect to the colsole. They were on sale for a great price & way less than the PS or Xbox branded external drives with less capacity.

Pros: great price when on sale, no issues out of the box, quiet Cons: none, does what it is supposed to do

I used to purchase Seagate drives only but am finding that they fail at a pretty high rate. Over the years I 've had 6 or 7 die and lost data. The WD drives don't seem ot have that problem and the price is very competitive.

Good HD for storing games. Easy hook up. Lots of game storage.

I've been using this external hard drive for a number of months. It is slow and hangs up often even with a new laptop. I've used this external hard drive on both an older computer and a new computer and it still has the same problems. I do not recommend the purchase of this hard drive.

No issues. Transfers at 120mb/s on 3.0 to sata. 60mb/s on network transfer. There is no reason not to have a backup of everything on your PC. 8tb is more than enough space for most people. Buy 2 because HDD's fail. Quality is average. Definitely not a drive you can drop. The drive inside is a standard HDD which you can take out of the shell. This will void the warranty but its cheaper than buying a standard drive of the same size.

We use this WD Easystore for backups for three computers: two desktops and one laptop, which we use in different ways for different projects. This Easystore External HD takes care of all our needs to protect and save our work, and we can use different backup programs for saving. The HD is swift, easy to use, quiet and it performs perfectly. We highly recommend this WD Easystore as an extrenal HD we know you will be happy you purchased.

Fast backup. I have used it several times since purchase and have had no problems.

The unit was noisy especially if placed horizontally. Good price though for 8TBs of storage. Unfortunally I had to return it as it was too distracting (I sat right next to it and I could hear it humming even with the TV on).

Was easy to transfer all my files over. It's quieter than the last one I bought, tona of storage, 8tb for under $180.

Drives are great stand alone Personal Clouds but if you are building a NAS, you can shuck the drives out and use them in your NAS. They are apparently, WD Red Drives with TLER (Time Limited Error Recovery) from Thailand with 256MB Cache. At Half price on sale, You could save a bundle while building your Media Server or Personal Cloud,
