Works Great as an External Nas with my Pi 3
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So I purchase this as I have the same problem I suspect everyone does with having media on multiple drives, and not sorted well. I setup OpenMediaVault on my Raspberry Pi 3 and attached this Hard drive to it via USB. So far no complaints as the Pi 3 is the limiting factor with speed. I get about 11 mbs since the Pi 3 internal NIC is only 100mbs. Drive works great as it's been about a month or so since it's been powered off and I'm impressed for the price I paid you can't get more storage.

After copying my files onto the external drive, I ended up shucking the internal drive and installing it into my machine directly. It's been running so well since then, I picked up another one a month or so ago again. Been a Western Digital user for over 20 years now, and they all have not let me down. It's not as fast as the 7200rpm drives, but is perfect for a high capacity storage drive!
