Simple drive and fast drive it does not encrypt the drive so if the controller fail you can swap it out with another one . 2 year warranty is also good too

I am a landscape photographer and I bought this drive to back up a raid that Where I have all of my professional photos Stored. This drive is fast enough and large enough to even store my RAW original files. Highly recommend this drive. Also I have bought some in the past to shuck and install in a raid. They work well in there too.

Great product just not so much compatible with IMac. It does not know when to turn back on after the computer sleeps. I always have to disconnect and connect back.

I don't use the WD software, I just drag and drop because I am very particular about file paths, but for the peace of mind having all of my files, computers, and images backed up, this is a great price. This storage is a great value, great size and provides the extra space I need for storage. I was looking for the Seagate and when I got to the store they only had WD. The salesperson assured me this product is comparable to Seagate. I left it with my computer and two smaller drives and they copied the data. When I brought it home I was very satisfied. I always appreciate good service and value.

Great external storage drive for large files. It can be connected to computer USB port, but it can be attached to a router/NAS/media server/file server USB port. still Quiet but runs hot, no problem reported from OS or disinfo so far. Drive has 256mb cache and.

Well it's a big 8TB hard drive so it's got plenty of storage for backing up all your pictures and videos. Easy to install and use. Even my Dad could figure it out!

I cracked this guy open and took out the drive and put it in a Drobo (NAS). There is a Western Digital Red drive inside which are great for a NAS. The drive was much cheaper to get this way than it was to buy directly. I also used the enclosure with my sister's old hard drive to her old computer so she could pull off the files she cared about. Great drive, still going strong!

This is a must have for anyone running out of room on their xbox one. Very easy to setup. Turn on your xbox first and have it to main screen before you plug in your external drive because thats when you see the options of how you want to setup the drive. Catch it on sale if your able cause thats how I was able to get this great device. Major help with my growing collection of games.

Got this on sale and the value for what I got is excellent. I was able to plug it in and start using it immediately. Don't bother with using any of the WD Smartware stuff that it comes with. You should be able to start dragging files back and forth right away. Using this on an old Windows 7 PC that was upgraded to Windows 10 last year.

Tons of space and the reliability of Western Digital.
