So far I have performed about 7TB of writes and used used this external drive daily doing both reading and writing. It's mostly filled up now. It has performed flawlessly and the performance seems good to me. No problems at all.

This hard drive really works. Plug and play easy. Tons of storage space!

Most of these drives are actually WD Red drives which are excellent drives. From what I've found you can tell if it's a red drive by the AC adapter I"m assuming this is because of the factory they come out of. if the plug is sideways then it is a red if it is regular it is not.

I always use western digital hard drives, they have good price and capacity.

a huge space for storage. A good item for video , files and photos to save . you also can use it to duplicate your primary hard drive as a backup.

Runs ridiculously hot when in use. The case doesn’t seem to actively cool or anything of the sort. Uncomfortable to touch/have on desk

Nicely done so far...easy set up. Effortless saving. Will obviously continue to monitor as I have had several externals fail in the past. Renew my faith WD.

A quick and easy shuck and some kapton tape to block pin 3 and blammo, my server had an additional 8TB of storage to play with. Watch these for sales and grab one for easy storage. The device by itself is great too, stable storage for those who need a little more room but don't have the ability to add the drive in their computer.

I needed more storage for my PS4 and found this on sale. Works flawlessly on the PS4. It uses DC power (not a fan of it but it's fine) but it turns itself off when the PS4 is turned off which is great because my old one would stay on until it was manually turned off.

I got 32TB for a great price of 150/ per 8TB Great product works fantastic.

On sale this thing can't be beat. Easy set up and huge amount of space.

Bought this to back up/hoard a bunch of files. I got it while it was on sale. Couldn’t beat the price per TB. I have no issues or concerns With this drive. Works as advertised and the quality is fine. The usb cable could be a little longer for sake of storing this out of sight but otherwise no issues.
