This drive is definitely sizable. I have purchased many of these and so far, so good. If you plan on shucking these, keep in mind the drives probably are sata v 3.3 which means if your power supply is not 3.3 compliant, you will have to use a molex to sata power adapter. I found out the hard way.

I originally bought the WD - easystore 8TB External USB 3.0 Hard Drive for fast access to my large data base of information and apps. At the same time, I was backing up everything online for disaster recovery. The online storage is excellent but after a couple of terabytes it begins to take days to transfer the data even with 100 MB+ Internet speed. So I as an experiment I backed up everything to my easystore and it took a about 1/2 day for the first backup but the following backups took only minutes. To solve the disaster recovery requirement I bought a second easystore and swap them every X days. I keep the off site easystore in a safe deposit box. I get fast, safe disaster recovery at a low cost.

This drive has been up and running since I bought it around 7 months ago with no problems at all. Wish I would have bought a couple since the cost of the guys fluctuates quite offend. When it goes back down to what I paid for it last, or cheaper I hope, I'll pick up a couple of more to put in my NAD.

I purchased this hard drive to store data from my old laptop as the laptop was on its last leg. So simple to use as it is a plug and play external drive. I was done transferring a lot of data in less time than I anticipated! I have peace of mind knowing I have my important data in a safe place!

Pro: An great amount of space to backup and store your files! Con: I don’t mind it having a separate power adapter for it to function, I just think the usb cable that is comes with is too short. Would have been great to have a longer cable to place it where I want.

Purchase 4, after 2 months of use, so far it’s ok. Air filled, not helium.

I snagged this on sale during Black Friday, and it's been great so far. I needed something to store backup copies of data on; because as they say, data you don't have backed up is data you don't care about losing!! We'll see how it holds out, but the drive inside is reportedly very highly rated!

I am in love with this drive! Super reliable and the read and write speed are outstanding! Best bang for you buck!

What i cqn say best company. I like them over Seagate. Reliable. Had products in the past last long and work fast.

As many others have said, inside the enclosure is an 8tb WD Red that is relatively easy to remove and is significantly cheaper than its retail price. The drive itself is a little louder than the WD blues that I have but it’s transfer speeds are better and these drives have a good reputation for reliability.

This EHD has been my storage for videos during 2.5 years of daily use. I leave it safely protected on my desk, so cannot speak to travel durability, but it works reliably with my Apple laptop.

Does what it was designed to do and hopefully last a longtime.I do like the fact that it has USB 3.1 built in so its faster than those older USB 2 models.
