Great hard drive been using these for a very long time just purchased two more for my Nas

I bought this when it was on sale. It had a WD Red Drive in it. I took it out and put it into my Nas, and it has been working great.

So, I bought two of these so that I could crack them open and get the drives out of them since they have WD Red NAS drives in them, which if you buy individually are more expensive than this was (I got it on sale). Of the two, one arrived and stopped working within the first week. I contacted WD and they replaced it lickety split. I now have two working drives. I put them through the ringer to test them before opening them since that voids the warranty. I now have both drives installed in a Synology NAS and they are working great!

I'm not sure if all external hard drives behave the same way but I have 3 Western Digital that goes to sleep too quickly. Other than that, no issues.

I’ve been using this WD 8tb external drive for almost two years now. I use it for backup purposes using the included backup software on my windows computer. I’ve had flawless performance and it’s good knowing my data and photos are backed up. I use a cloud backup as well.

These are simply superb value on sale. I bought many of these again for the red NAS drive inside. Simply a steal at $140 a piece.

Does what it says on the tin. I use it to back up a backup machine, so I have a backup for my backups. The unit runs hotter than I'd like under load. It ran hot under load when I ran a 6TB backup, sure, but even under more standard loads of 100-200GB at a time, it's still pretty hot, so maybe don't go for this guyif you intend to routinely make transfers of in excess of 500GB. But if you're doing that, you should probably look into a dedicated NAS anyway.

I have now purchased 5 of these NESN model number drives that stated they were a product of Thailand. Every one of them so far has had a 256MB Cache WD Red NAS drive inside of it. You cannot beat that for shucking the drive out of the case to put inside a NAS server. Money to be saved for sure in relation to buying WD Red bare drives.
