Nice large reliable hard drive! So far so good. I use it as intended as an external hard drive but I believe many people like to pull the drive out and throw it in a PC. It works well for my use case.

This is my 3rd 8TB HDD. I have 0 complaints. Cheap, quiet and they help me increase my media collection. Best bargain around. I'm confident they will survive those temperatures within the warranty period (2 years), but it's been tested and proven that hard drives do not do so well in terms of longevity with temperatures in excess of 40c. If you do shuck them, they run very cool; and you don't even have to install them internally. Just popping off the outer casing, and running a small fan on top keeps temperatures within 32-36c.

Couldn't have been easier to install. Plug it in and it takes care of everything. It puts easy to use software on your computer. You can tell it what to bsckup and how often. 8TB is tons of space.

Able to reach 165MB/s on continuous read and write on a USB 3.0 connection, these drives are incredibly fast for data archiving purpose or for adding storage to the Xbox One and PS4 family of consoles. Fanless, quiet, uses external power of 12v/2A (wall wart design does not obstruct bottom receptacle when plugged directly to an AC wall receptacle) and designed to stand vertically. You will risk overheating if you lay them down horizontally and then stack something on top of it, like another WD easystore, as there are no vents on the broad sides of the plastic housing. This drive blows me away with its speed and capacity. I use it for my Plex server on my Nvidia Shield for dvr purposes and this drive shines with its speed and ease of use. Highly recommended.

Have 3 of these. No problems so far, been about 2 monthes on time. 3rd drive is for backup of music on my server. Would recommend for sure.

Was looking for cheap storage for movies and music from a reliable company. This connected easily to my router as a media hub for our home network. Works as expected and was an amazing price.

Great device. Comes with everything you need. Plenty of storage. Not the fastest drive out there but will do 110MB/s easy. Good bulk storage. Has a western digital red drive inside. Reliable.

Great buy for the price. It was easy to set up, and easy to use. I think the AC power is the only thing they should do away with. If it is supposedly portable; Why isn't it just a plug and play without having to seek a outlet??? This would be a total "Best BUy" if you didn't need an outlet, but I gave it 5 stars anyway.

Decent external drive. Bought one last year and had no issue. Quiet and cool even under heavy load. Drive actually spins at 7200 despite being a 5400 class drive, so if you shuck for NAS use, it will run a little hotter and suck more power

Very fast usb 3.0 drive. Has WD 8TB Red NAS drive inside. I bought 3. Two went into my WDMyCloud EX4100 NAS as backup drives and the third I am using for offsite external backup. Great drive.

This was a great buy. The price was also something I couldn't pass up. Excellent for photos, music, documents and so much more. I don't have to ever worry about losing my data when its being backed up by such a great product.

This drives appear on a very low price every now and then. Great option if you shuck them (disassemble them) and use the internal drive for your NAS storage. Drive normally is a WD RED model.

This is my forth WD hard drive purchase for back up storage. I stuck with this brand for the last 5 years due to reliability and ease of software set up for locking and automatic back ups.
