I had zero issue with the operations of this drive, worked flawlessly. It was just a bit, slow, for my desires. Sure was GREAT to see that 8TB showing up though, that is a TON (!!) of space. The slower speed though, totally expected by the way (just forgot exactly HOW slow it was going to be), I did return it. If you need large amounts of slow space no doubt this is a great drive. Just wasn't for me.

Ordered 5 total. 4 we’re reds while one was a white label. I even exchanged the white label in store and got another white. The 4 reds are used on a NAS and the white label is still in the external drive backing up the NAS. Great savings when on sale vs buying Reds new.

Being a retired computer engineer. And had been in the field for many years, had a lot of good luck with Western Digital hard driperiod, external and internal. No problem purchases one for anywhere. Idle box brought it back home. Hooked it up to what I was using it for and had no luck. It was awful. I'll never buy Russian digital again. You all took care of the issue and I purchased a see gate hardware.

The WD Easy Store hard drive was justnthe ticketnto backup all of the items and documents on my iMac Desk Top Computer. I am an artist and photographer so saving and protecting images of my work is critical. This hard drive has performed above and beyond my expectations!

I used this to load all my PS4 games onto, about 327 of them. I have played about 30 to 40 hours off this drive and Ive had no issues. And I still have about 75% space left!

This is a fantastic hard drive, and the 8 TB of storage give plenty of room and options, whether it's used as extra storage, as a backup for your computers, laptops, or what-have-you, or as a super-huge photo album, this baby has the room!

Good external hard drive, however this is a large enough unit it requires external power.

Was afraid older NTFS might choke on 8gb partition but working fine. Good utilities also!

Bought. Opened. Confirmed - WD Red HDD inside. Nice. Wish it was an SSD for that price :)

A friend of mine told me that these external hard drives are easy to shuck so the physical disk can be used in a NAS or a desktop. Furthermore he told me that the enclosure can then be put back together with a different hard drive inside if you still want an external hard drive and have an appropriate HDD lying around. Despite having a DOA unit which had to be exchanged, I'm still happy with the purchase.

This is a great external drive and offers good reliability since it is externally powered, but be warned you do not get the full 8TB or storage advertised due to a partition hidden on the drive itself, most likely for its own processing. I am using this as a dual purpose drive, I have a 1TB partition for a backup (Using a 500 gig drive for the 0s) and the rest (roughly 7.75TB) for game and other file storage. The included backup software seems to work fine but there are certain file types that it cannot store and it does alert you of this which is nice. It backs up everything else and simply ignores what it cannot. All in all I really like it and would recommend it, but at its price I would wait for a sale before buying it, or if you can get away with a little less space get a lower capacity drive from the same series.

I purchased this hard drive to increase my storage for my PS4. It installed and works flawlessly. I understand that the drive is a Red drive, which should provide a long life. The price could not be beat. Highly recommended, if you can get one on sale.

Purchased this based on positive reviews. I exceeded my current hard drive (4tb) containing pictures and videos. I was originally looking at a 6tb drive but saw this one on sale and with a WD Red Drive inside. Normally, I don't like extremely large drives like this because I would need a backup of equivalent size and if a failure happens. That is a lot of data to recover. But for the price I'm willing to take a chance. Originally I was going to pop the drive out and put it in my desktop. But before that, I wanted to transfer all my files to the new drive. I was surprised how fast it copied everything (4 tb + 2tb). I was so impressed, I decided to keep it as an external drive. For my purposes it works fine. Right now it is a backup of two drives of photos and videos. Why mess with breaking it out and installing in the PC. So far no issues and I can keep the data isolated from the PC. Great value for the money.

I have four of these guys shucked out of their cases and living in a four bay NAS for my Plex server. The price can't be beat when they're on sale. Bonus points: I've sold two of the cases and guts on that auction site. Nothing goes to waste.

This is the best it is small with a lot of space. Downloaded all games still have space.

Great buy for the price, most external storage does give you the same bang for your buck
