Bought in June, loaded about 3TB of data on it. Unplugged till today, when the drive is unresponsive. Cannot be opened or initiated, gives fata error. Will never buy WD again, do not recommend. Go with Seagate. Moreover, Bestbuy support couldnt even tell me if repair had cost or not till I took it in-person... save yourself some trouble and buy elsewhere and just not this brand/model

Great for the mass storage needs. I use it for backing up all my media. I have a second one to back up all my games from game pass on my xbox. Works great and I only have to download my games once and put them on each xbox

Bought this 8TB drive to keep up with the ever growing storage needed for gopro & drone video. Doubled my last hard drive & this drive seems faster transferring files to & from so really satisfied of course until this one fills up maybe a 16TB will be out by that time!

I typically used these drive (since I found they are usually WD Red or White label Red drives) for my synology NAS. I have 4 running now without issue. I use the WD Diag to fully scan each disk and so far each has been without issue.

What a great addition to our computers. What to do with over 100,000 pictures that uses up our computer hard drive space. With this easy to use external drive, everything was transferred over for easy access. And yes, the computer runs a lot faster now with all of the pictures moved.

I bought this hard drive so I could put more games on my PS4. This worked exactly how I wanted it. When I plug it into my PS4 it asked to format to the PS4 and I allowed it and I now have 16 games saved on my system and not even a TB of space is used.

Lasted almost 2 weeks. Started making a bunch of beeping noises, after a few days. Then it failed. I figured maybe it overheated, because I hooked it back up in an hour after cooling, then it died a couple days later completely. Great price, worthless product.

Like the 10 TB easystore I bought during the crazy sale in Feb, this one shucked down to WD White drive (specifically, a WD80EMAZ). This one's going straight into my WD My Cloud ex2 Ultra, spanned alongside the 10 TB and backed up to a set of older MyBooks.

I purchased this as part of a deal and am using it as an external storage. So far performance is great though a bit noisy at times especially when it starts. Copied a ton of pictures from other drives and it was really quick. Planning to open it and use the drive inside in a NAS.

8TB, made sure to even get the red drive version. Not much more I can say except that the temps CAN get a bit high. And I'm talking 50c territory. I wouldn't recommend keeping it on for more than a couple hours at a time. Hope that helps those on the fence. Got it for 160.

Have been looking for additional storage for my Xbox 1 day 1. Have a 3tb already but no space, been looking for over a year for the right space and especially price...this nailed it...obviously I'll need more space unless the Xbox X comes with 12tb to start....excellent purchase

Picked this up when it was pretty wickedly on sale, after learning that inside these externals is a WD Red drive, meaning that I basically got an 8TB Red for much less than MSRP on those drives. I have it as a 4TB Time Machine and 4TB "extra storage" drive. No complaints.

I bought it because the internal drive on my computer died and I as running on my backup. This drive became my new backup and has been running flawlessly. Waiting for the stay at home order to expire to get the internal drive replaced.

I've bought a few of these drives to use for video servers and for data backup. No on/off button to hit, the drive comes on when computer is on. The drives are very quiet - you can hear a slight hum if you listen up close but they're a very quiet drive overall.

This Best Buy easystore 8tb is like fantastic corn. I really love the value for the money and it’s easy to go nuts for a drive like this! This is the type of product there are raids for on Black Friday. Buy three or more and you can have a party.

    Bought for shucking

In case you don't know ...shucking is removing the internal hard drive from the enclosure. Strangely, companies charge significantly more for a bare internal drive than they do for these external ones. May be due to the fact that they can use any drive they want inside. Or that their warranties are typically not as long. Either way, after shucking this drive with my fingers crossed for the 8TB Red (NAS) drive as many have found in theirs, I encountered the white label drive instead. Based on the info on the label it appears to be an HGST 8TB Helium Data center drive at 7200rpm w/256MB of cache. So I figured I'd give it a shot since I've had great luck with the HGST 4TB drives in my home server. So far so good. I didn't need to tape off the 3.3v pin, and it's every bit as fast as the 4TB drives I have had running for years. I'll probably pick up another, but this at least got my raid array (10e) completed for the time being. Plus I got a nice external enclosure to use with another drive I had laying around!
