    So far, the product works as expected from WD. HOWEVER, the packaging it was delivered in sucked! -- There were 2 inflated pillow cushions on one side, 2 DE-flated ones on the other side and NO cushioning/packing above or below. When picked up, you could hear/feel the drive in its box rattling around. I was really surprised it worked at all.

    Once you remove the USB power (from a Mac, let's say), the drive will power down even if left connected to the wall-wart. That works nicely but if you have this connected through a powered USB3 hub, you'll have to pull either the data or power cable in order to let it power down. I can't really take off a star for this as, in all other respects, it's working fine.
