Lots of space in a book-sized hard drive. Easy to store away and take around with you. It does require a power source to turn on as the USB port is not strong enough to turn on by itself.

After trying this one, never bought another brand for external storage, I own 7 of this different capacity. All of the keep working as first day. Thanks WD for your product and to the store for best service ever.

I was looking for additional back-up storage. I purchased the WD easystore 8TB Plug and Play Desktop back-up unit. My Linksys router has the USB port to allow the connection of storage that can then be shared across the network. I attached this drive to the router and set up the shares. This unit can also be used as a Media server. Files and Folders can be password protected. I would recommend this for a solid back-up solution.

Easy to setup for my Xbox one elite. It's fast and quiet. Definitely a must have for extra space.

Needed a large external HD for my PS4. Works like a charm and was about 50% off on a doorbuster.

I absolutely love these Easystore drives of ANY size. The 8TB is a sweet spot for those that need a bunch of extra storage, but nothing too crazy. Best Buy sells this as a GREAT price if you stick around and watch. I highly recommend these drives. Beautiful, slick, small physical size with a HUGE internal storage capacity. Highly recommend.

I remember paying over $500 for a 64Mb hard drive and now I got this 8Tb drive for under $180. The setup was easy although I had to reformat it to use on my Mac. It runs fast and I'm able to use it as a backup for my other drives connected to my computer. I've never had a bad WD drive but have had many drives from another brand (starts with an S) go bad and I've lost lots of data. WD makes quality equipment at a great price.

Bought as a game drive for my steam games I dont play much or older and dont need a faster drive. Works great! Also streamed Doom 2016 from this HDD to my steam deck with no issues. Would reccomend!

Stores files like you'd expect. Software is included on the device, had to restart before it worked as it should after installation. Overall great way to keep your media.
