The drives inside are no longer the 256MB Cache WD80EMAZ Drives. As of 9/2021 WD looks to be using WD80EMZZ drives in these with 128MB Cache. I don't know if these are CMR or SMR as there doesn't seem to be any info on these drives. This drive should be priced around $130 vs $160-$170.

No doubt its a 7.5 TB approx storage. Nice device, i could store all my legacy stuff in it finally.

Good backup drive for the money. Would be better if it was a SSD. Got on sale great price.

I bought this drive to backup my NAS. It's quiet and the price was right but I wish it had USB 3.1 speed.

I would recommend this drive for storing important information . Great buy for the price.

To be honest, I have little experience using it as an actual USB drive. Instead, I removed the drive from inside and used it as an internal 8TB HDD. Which worked great. Runs cooler and should have a longer life than using it in the case.

I picked this up as a backup for all my pictures and Music as i have a lot of that i would hate to lose.

Works good so far. Have put about 10 HD videos on it so far. Write speed is fair. Sale price was reasonable

Started getting nervous since a lot of my hard drives are older. being a music producer my biggest fear is lost of Sounds Song Files and tracks. I got this to use with my time machine. I had drives like this before so I had great confidence when making my purchase.

It’s your everyday backup HDD, use it to store photos on my network and hasn’t given me any problems.

I bought this for my Xbox, and yes it's over kill. I have 100+ games on this and its only using 14%. The only complaint I have is that it's a bit bulky and looks a little out of place in my entertainment center. That aside I'd get another one of needed, but I don't think I'll need to for some time.

Got an external drive for my backups at an excellent price. It worked without any issues right out of the box.

Western Digital drive has a good capacity for this price and it would be perfect to have a smaller size.

I was told these drives were very reliable and I get one dead on arrival. This is very disappointing.

I got this about a year ago for my security systems storage. I ended up not needing it and moved it around a bunch. It ended up failing, but thats not a common occurrence for these things. If you get one, chances are it wont fail on you. Plus the warranty covers it if it does. If you need an 8tb external hard drive, you cant go wrong with this one. They just need to use USB C in future versions.
