Defective?

sleeping hard drive

So for my home use and portability they didn’t work for me... I took back both back and got the WD 4TB external drives that connect right to laptop.

Dead out of the box

Wouldn’t Work

I specifically asked the salesperson if it would work and he said it would. I found out that it did not work and I couldn’t find support to help.

They all run EXTREMELY HOT. I have many other WD external drives, and none of them get nearly this hot. I'm finding that the WD products sold at Best Buy are inferior to those similar (or even nearly identical) ones found from other vendors.
