Difficult to figure out how it works. You go to the site but it does nothing. I haven’t been able to save anything to the device.

I had to return this item because there was no ac adapter in the box. Im sure it wouldve work just fine though. Ended up picking up a different hard drive from Gamestop.

Not overly impressed with these. They are large, noisy and slow. Will definitely go a different route the next time.

A regular storage device. Nothing special to speak of.... just using for backup. Can't really say how good it is, unless/until is has a problem or dies.

I bought two of these drives for photo storage. One is working fine the other died after about 3 days. The power light flashes on briefly when first powering up the drive but that's the only activity. Returned it to BB and they gladly replaced it. The replacement drive is doing the very same thing right out of the box. I have swapped power supplies. Tried different cables. The issue is the drive itself. Heading back to BB to return again. Troubling issue.

Data Encryption - NO! From WD support: The WD EasyStore drive does not support native WD Security software to encrypt the drive.

As of 2023 this is considered “out dated” by the manufacturer.

Western Digital lets me down ALL THE TIME. So frustrating! Lose data all the time due to a malfunction of the drive.

I'm extremely disappointed with this product. I've owned this drive for a little over a week and I've had issues with it since day one. I own another drive from Western Digital and I absolutely love it but this one misses the mark completely. I've been receiving error codes every time I try to save my projects and files to the drive. I've had to shut down everything just to unplug the drive so that I could reboot it. I've continuously received Error (-36) and (-50) when attempting to write on the drive or save projects from other applications to the drive. On another note, I tried setting up a return and exchange for this product with Bestbuy and they said it couldn't be done. So now, I'm stuck with a drive that's unreliable.

I bought this because I wanted more storage space but right out the gate I realize that it was way too slow for what i wanted.

When this desktop arrived, I was excited as it had a very small footprint. However, when it stopped working after one day (the first day I only installed antivirus software and Office onto it), it stopped working. As the computer was for my wife's company, we had our contract IT group take a look at it. They informed me that the hard drive had arrived damaged. Fortunately, it was under warranty.

I had to purchase this to replace one that died 13 months (1 month removed from warranty). Hopefully that was a fluke...

Have had issue since purchased with not backing up info. Will be contacting the Geek Squad to take care of the issue.

Average to good quality, sometimes having problem connecting to my laptop. But work well otherwise.

Says it’s compatible with Mac after reformatting. Didn’t work for me. Tried reformatting and it bricked.

Bought it because it was at a very good price during thanksgiving. It’s noisy and it take a few seconds to wake up while accessing it.

Great drive. Software needs to be updated. Personally I shucked these while they were on sale. No problems.

Gave out after a couple moves. Shouldn’t really be so fragile that it has to sit in the same place all the time

Mac Pro desktop for not recognize the drive, or allow it to be formatted or partitioned. Customer service was not able to troubleshoot it.

First one was DOA, and squealed like a long winded pig when powered on. Bestbuy exchange shipped a replacement which seems ok so far.
