Useful external hard drive with plenty of storage. Good quality and easy to set up.

it is white label drive inside - put it inside Synology - so far no problem. not a lot of noise, not that fast. Hopefully it will last longer than Seagate external.

I have bought a few of these so far and have never had an issue with them yet. Mine have all had White Label drives in them.

I managed to snag an 8TB on sale for 130$ over the weekend. I had been looking at a 4TB for not much cheaper and decide to go with the 8TB. This is being used as external storage on the Xbox one s. It was very easy to use the storage device with the Xbox. It does make some noise and is about the size of a decent sized book. The noise does not bother me and I have the device hidden behind the tv, so neither of these are an issue for me, but may be for others.

It's compact size helps me save space next to my laptop. Perfectly does the job it needs to do for backing up files. Very easy to use. However, it tends to make noises compared to other hard drives I own.

Pretty Solid Drive, have it for 4y and counting, never had an issue.

I bought two of these on sale to shuck. They still contain the WD Red drives inside. So far I'm very happy with them.

This External Drive is so much better than trying to save everything on your computer

It's an external 8TB drive. Typical case construction from WD, feels slightly cheap, ugly glossy plastic, scratches easily. Mine came with the 256MB cache version of WD Reds. Transfer speeds over the USB3 port hover around 200MB/s for sequential read and write in my tests. Overall a great value for the current price of $180.

I bought this because my last external backup drive was almost full, plus you don't want your backup drives to be too old. Best Buy was having their My Rewards members sale, so I stopped in and got this one. Setup was easy and transferring stuff from my computer and other backup drives was easy and quick. My only complaint about the drive is that when you haven't sent anything to it in a little while it goes to sleep (as most drives do) and it takes a little longer than I'm used to to wake up and be able to accept files or go to the file you're looking for. A minor annoyance.

Great price for 8 TB of space. using it on my PS4 Pro and it works flawlessly.

For those it will help, do not utilize Mac's disk utility to reformat, as you will likely receive a failure message when trying to reformat. Instead, after you install the WD Discovery app when you connect the drive, install the WD Drive Utilities app and use that to reformat. Took only seconds.

The unit failed during installation. It took several hours on the phone to reach anyone that even understood my complaint. Even then, I was told to "just take it to your nearest dealer" (we live on an island in the San Juan Straights... the "nearest dealer" is an all day trip and an expensive ride on the ferry). Most of the representatives that we spoke with had, at best, only a minimal command of English.
