    This is my 2nd external desktop hard drive from Western Digital and its great so far. My first one has been used for 3 years so far and it's still in good condition from what I can tell. I trust that this new drive would hold up just as well.

    I like that it has 8 TB for a full backups of several of our systems but it makes a lot of noise and sounds clunking in the background while it's reading/writing. Not sure if this is normal. Our other WD products are quiet. Have to dismount it from auto backup because it is so noisy and loud. Then re-engage when needed. Not ideal since remembering to do so could be overlooked.
