I didn't use any of the built-in software so I can't elaborate on that. This drive works well for backing up my data. This drive is NOT for you if you want to move it around a lot. There are more durable high-capacity drives available if you want a portable option.

It offers decent transfer speeds for moving and copying files. If only external SSDs were more affordably priced in that storage size, that would be a more viable alternative for content creators.

Shockable and air filled

They are still white label red drives but they are definitely air filled and not helium filled which means they tend to run a bit hotter. Either way when these go on sale I’m a sucker and buy to that I can shuck it like an oyster and pop it in my NAS.
