After having a drive failure, we decided to just replace it rather than go through the warranty process. This drive was purchased to give us an extra backup of our work files for peace of mind. It was easy to set up and has performed as expected.

It constantly opens the admin Ui to ask permission to make changes on the computer. It also occasionally keeps the computer running and making noise after the computer has been put to sleep.

I was reading reviews and watching videos of people who say it is very difficult to connect to Mac. In my experience, I did not any problems at all. Works perfect after erasing the product with Disk Utility. Love it... One struggle is the speed.. not bad but it takes a bit long time to transfer large files. Again, not too bad :)

It is slow and hangs up often even with a new laptop. I've used this external hard drive on both an older computer and a new computer and it still has the same problems. I do not recommend the purchase of this hard drive.

I have been using it as a media drive for a plex server and have not had any issues after a few months. I would say though that the normal $180 is a little high and wait till it goes on sale for between $120-$130.
