Great way to get a cheap 8TB drive

You can crack the case open (search Youtube for "shucking wd drive") and then you'll have a shiny, new 8TB drive. This is the same 8TB drive that Western Digital sells as an internal drive, usually for $250. So if you're populating a NAS box and need 4-6 drives, this is the way to do it. Cracking open the case will void your warranty. Be aware.

Ginormous storage

Sure, it isn't quite for everyone, but you know if you're someone that needs this much storage space. And, for the cost, this drive is quite good. As others have mentioned in their reviews, this particular model have been known to pack some well reviewed drives inside. So if you need a good performance storage solution, then this definitely comes recommended.

WD Red Inside
