This WD external hard drive is a wonderful addition to my backup storage lineup. It’s very cost effective and the USB 3.0 allows for quick transfer of files. Highly recommended!

Super easy to shuck and install, no need to even cover the pins like older versions. Shuck, plug in, and boot up!

If you watch, these will periodically go on sale for abound $150. You can crack the case open (search Youtube for "shucking wd drive") and then you'll have a shiny, new 8TB drive. This is the same 8TB drive that Western Digital sells as an internal drive, usually for $250. So if you're populating a NAS box and need 4-6 drives, this is the way to do it. Cracking open the case will void your warranty. Be aware.

This hard drive was very easy and quick to set up. I would recommend it for those who are looking to start up a digital library.

Simply put, this is a great huge capacity drive. Sure, it isn't quite for everyone, but you know if you're someone that needs this much storage space. And, for the cost, this drive is quite good. As others have mentioned in their reviews, this particular model have been known to pack some well reviewed drives inside. So if you need a good performance storage solution, then this definitely comes recommended.

Easy setup and now I can backup all my files from three computers and still have plenty of storage space. It's not loud but it can get hot over time. I keep it at the floor next to a small portable fan to keep it a lot cooler and so far no issues. The sale price was the same as the 5 TB so it's a no brainer to go with the 8 TB. Worth it if on sale.

This was a great deal on this 8TB drive. It was ordered online and arrived 2 days later. Plugged in, it spins and reads and writes data. Just exactly what the doctor ordered!

I removed the enclosure and took the WD Red that was inside out. I placed these in my workstation and they work great. Likely voided the warranty but, the price was excellent.

This is a cheaper alternative to adding 8TB of space to your Xbox One or Series X. Again, 8 TB of additional space for all your games!

I get nervous with these massive drives because it's like having all your eggs in one basket, but it seems to be a great drive.

8TB May seem like a lot of space but it also loads games faster if you save all downloads to it. Needs to be plugged into the wall for power supply, keep that in mind. (Xbox)

Good hard drive. Get it on deal of the day. Runs good and avout 130 megabyte per second trasfer over usb 3.
