Plugged this right into my computer and it worked right away. Great Backup drive!

I've always had WD hard drives. When I saw this one on sale, I didn't hesitate to pull the trigger on it. Just an FYI for those of you who are going to use this on an iMac. I have formatted it as Journal & I have a problem with it not showing up for quite a while. I have to run WD Drive Utilities every time I start up my machine. By the time the test has almost completed.....the drive shows up in Finder. Other than that, it works fine. It's pretty quick & quiet. Can't really complain about it for the short price I paid. Maybe this issue was reflected in the price? Hmmm

Love this external hard drive. Our hobby is outdoor photography and storage is a must. Really great to finally have a large - 8T - storage drive that is reasonably priced and very easy to install & use. It can be used as primary storage or a great backup storage space. As everyone knows -- BACKUP your files! And this size makes it easy.

This is the second drive I have purchased. The first a year ago. The drive is fast, and takes up little desk space. Runs quietly. What more can you adk?

Easy to use and it seems to be working great. I don't use the auto backup but transfer video files from another hard drive is doing great.

This was easy to set up and a good value for the amount of storage. I’m using it for Xbox game storage. Will take me years to use it all.

Pros: Price - especially when on sale. The drive is quiet, compact, quick, and is a robust 5400rpm WD He10 8TB drive - WDC WD80EMAZ-00WJTA0 This drive is very quick - benchmarked on Mac from 1st TB to last (made 8 partitions) with Disk Speed Test 190/170MB/s Read/Write for first partition to 110/110MB/s for last partition. Nits: Drive spins down after inactivity and takes a second or two to spin back up. No power switch. Lastly wish the enclosure had a fan for cooling.

GOBS of easy to use backup storage. Works fast and reliably.

Just started using it to store all of our pictures. So far so good! :) j/k I’m not sure I will ever fill it by the time my child is 18 :)

Getting this on sale for 170 it's great because they have WD red drives inside and the 256mb cache version now my raid storage is complete

Plenty of storage for all my devices and even for future devices. I love having more than I need.

I bought this so I will never worry about memory on the Xbox one x ever. It works perfect should be able to download all games and apps.

I have used WD hard drives for many years and they have never failed me. This drive is great to use to back up volumes of data, pictures, movies, etc. I bought 3 and use one for laptop back up, 1 each on Xbox X game systems. I have stored 6 TB of games on 1 and they run just as fast off the external drive as they do off internal drive. Superb value.
