    Recently bought this WD 8TB external hard drive storage. It's perfect in that I could plug, format, and utilize for game download storage. Apparently I heard you can shuck the product but why waste the time doing that. It runs smooth, I had heard it is loud, which I do not find to be the case. So far loving it!

    These have an 8TB red inside. I use it for a plex server on my Shield TV. It sits on a TV console about 10 feet away so it's inaudible for me even when the room is quiet. Doesn't seem to get hot either. When it's on sale it's a no brainer. Bare WD Reds are expensive alone at this capacity, so this is a steal at 160

    Unlike other external hard drives, it has a powerful hard drive in it. Some others take them off and use for NAS.

    Lots of storage for very small desk footprint. It tucks away nicely and doesn't make a whole lot of noise. It does vibrate quite a lot, so I'd recommend putting it on a different surface than your working desk. Speeds are good and USB 3 works wonderfully.
