I bought 4 of these to store my video collection and to provide backup.

This is a solid reliable drive. It is great for local backups and more.

Husband uses this work work things. He said it is just what was needed.

This has a red WD NAS Drive inside the case. Purchased 4 for a 32gb NAS.

I've only had this a short time so I can't comment on its longevity, but my initial assessment is that it's a good deal for the price. These contain 8TB Red drives which should have the ability to run 24x7, but I use this as an extra backup device with infrequent power on time (may be connected once a week). I can't stress enough how important it is that you always have multiple copies of your important data. Never make the mistake of thinking that it's safe on any single drive; you must have redundancy, and ideally the more the better. The speed is as expected with standard USB 3.0 connectivity but there's no fan in the enclosure so if you're copying large amounts of data to the drive, make sure that you do it in a cool room and ideally with good air flow. The USB 3.0 connecting cable is approximately 4' long, so you might consider getting an extension cable (I did) if you need the extra length to insure the drive is placed in a cool spot or just for safe placement. I'm only giving it 4 stars because WD Red drives carry a 3 year warranty, but this device only includes a 2 year warranty which seems a little short. WD even provides 3 years on their passport drives which get thrown in backpacks and briefcases, so I think they can do a little better here. Overall I'm happy with the features of this drive and I'm glad BB is offering it. Recommended.

Highly recommended for external drive or to use as a backup hard drive.

i load this bad boy up with movies and take them to peoples house. i have this on my network as a external drive so all my PCs can access it and not need to buy multiple internal drives. best price per gig when on sale for $150

I’ve had the hard drive for about a month and it’s still working great. Reformatted the drive for Mac without any problems. Transfer speeds are not as great as a thunderbolt drive but for the price this is an excellent bang for the buck

I keep as little as possible on my computer's hard-drive as possible. This external hard-drive is extremely spacious with 8 TB and the 3.0 makes my up and down loading fast. It was also a great deal of the day special.

These WD are great for those that need a lot of storage. I shuck them and they are much more affordable than drives sold as internal drives. Get these when they go on sale, which Best Buy does regularly.

Last purchased product is connected to ASUS router and is being used as NAS. Safety and price are very satisfactory. This product is going to be used as a movie storage backup. Always good products and reasonable prices are very satisfying.

Cant get a WD Red for near this price! Shuck it and add it to your RAID

I purchased several of these drives to add to my networked computers. I reformatted them for macOS and set them up to work with the Time Machine for backups. They are working great.

If you have a lot of files like photos, movies or even music that you like to keep this drive have the capacity to save all and does it beautifully.

I bought this for my 14 year old son. He needed extra storage for his xbox one 1tb. It was easily installed, he did it himself. So far, working beautifully. He now has all of his games downloaded and still has nearly 6tb of storage left.

I bought this when it was on sale for my PS4. It work and is quiet. Recommend it if you need more PS4 storage.

I have only had this for a few days but works great. No issues so far.
