    Plug it in and it just works. I use it as a Time Machine backup drive. It doesn't have any bells and whistles like hardware-based encryption, etc. which actually sometimes get in the way for backups.

    I bought this to replace a bunch of smaller drives that I had around, which were all USB 2.0. The move to USB 3.0 is great for these small drives, which gets better power and move data faster.

    This drive is primarily used on the back of TV, so I can stream media from it. Works perfectly in that aspect. Once again the warranty is lacking, as the older WD had two year or more warranties. I will keep hoping that I come across another portable drive with a longer warranty, maybe a Toshiba is next in my future.

    This hard drive has worked like a charm thus far. I am a Mac user who also interacts with PCs. Drivers were easy to install and I was able to format the hard drive easily without a problem.
