The WD gaming drive adds and additional 2 TB of storage to your PS4 allowing something like 50 additional games to be installed. So far I have not noticed any lag in any of the games that have been installed on this drive. As far as I can tell, all of the games run the same from this external drive as they do from the internal drive. Installation was very easy and straightforward. The drive comes with a little card that has 4 steps to get the drive setup. If you follow this guide, you should not have any problems. If you are looking for some more storage for your PS4, this drive should fit the bill very nicely.

Does exactly what it’s supposed to and very user friendly

This product quit working on it very hard to get a warranty done to get them to replace or even to look at they don't answer phone or respond to emails it is a not recommend

It was an easy self powered install for my XBOX One. I transferred my games onto the drive and I have fit about 64 games all ranging from 2gb to 47gb each. I achieved some decent speeds and the games load properly after the transfer. The drive has powered up each and every time I start my xbox and it loads the games properly each time. I definitely recommend this drive as it is a nice space saver design and takes advantage of the USB3.0 connection.

Western Digital is a trusted name in storage drives and this unit lives up to that expectation. 2TB provides plenty of space for games and the blue color looks cool beside your Playstation. There is no software to have to download. Just plug into your Playstation, go to the Storage setting, and select format External storage. It is configured and ready to use in a matter of minutes. The drive can be used as storage for other devices as well and the transfer speed is very good.

The WD - Gaming Drive 2TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive is a perfect companion for my PS4 Pro. With my HDD already near full this is just what I need for my storage needs. I love how it is compact and slim black with blue accents. It has transfer speeds up to 5Gbps with Usb 3.0. With 2TB of storage that is more than enough to handle games I will be picking up in the future especially since Black Friday and Christmas coming up! Easy to install, plug and play.

The WD 2tb Gaming Drive works great. It’s small, a little bigger than the palm of my hand, and quiet. It only took a couple of minutes to connect and get running. A simple matter of plugging it in, going into Settings>Devices, selecting the drive, and it was ready to go. With 2tb of space I don’t have to delete old games to make space anymore (at least for a long while). If you have PSN+ and download new games each month, then this WD Gaming Drive is a must.

Using on a ps4. It's given us problems since day one- and yes, the usb settings have been changed to 'always on.' It is always giving us prompts that it has "been disconnected," or "needs to be repaired," despite NEVER being disconnected even once. These prompts occur at any time, even in the middle of gameplay or streaming. Honestly, I'm giving it 2 stars ONLY because it hasn't corrupted the games/app.s.. YET. I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

This is incredibly frustrating! My son got one of these and it went to crap within a few months. We exchanged it for a new one, and that one suddenly quit working too. Yes - okay, great that it lasted 1.5 years... but for $80 I feel ripped off. Now my son cannot access any of his games he had saved on this drive. We need to buy a new drive and it definitely will not be this one!

The WD 2TB External USB Gaming drive is a great way to get more storage on your PS4 without having to switch out your original hard drive or upgrading to a PS4 with a larger hard drive. It is easy to connect to the PS4 using a USB drive. Easy to access your games by switching to the external hard drive. It is small and doesn't take up much room. Can download tons of new games without spending a ton of money!

This is a great, little portable hard drive, perfect for toting around large files or media. I like to keep my entire music collection and a large collection of movies on it and throw it in the bag with my work laptop. If I get stuck somewhere on a business trip I have everything I need to be entertained. The drive is extremely thin and lightweight, maybe a little too light. While I feel fairly safe throwing it in a bag, but the plastic case does feel a little thin compared to some other drives. Also, the blue plastic on the bottom makes it look a little like a toy. The drive comes with a matching blue USB 3.0 cable. It's meant to be used with a PS4 and matches it aesthetically. I've used it exclusively with a PC and have been happy with transfer rates.

I only had it for little over a year and had to get it replaced so am glad I got the two year replacement plan honestly.

I download a lot of games. A lot. Problem is, I also take forever to finish these games. Not only that, but I like to play multiplayer games and those demand massive amounts of space. So, I keep having to make space for new games and having to go through the agonizing act of deciding which ones have to go. Well, the WD 2TB gaming hard drive has resolved this issue quite nicely. Adding the extra space involves reformatting the hard drive and a bit of tinkering with the PS4 settings and transferring games but in the end, it is quite easy and worth it. Now, I install all my games on the portable HDD and I do not have to worry (as much) about shuffling around games which I may take too long to finish (if ever). I really recommend it, especially if you play multiplayer and like to try every game out there.

With the opportunity to expand the storage capability of my 500GB Playstation 4, I trust Western Digital products to do the job well. The WD Gaming Drive doesn't disappoint here. The 2TB capacity is perfect for freeing up my PS4 storage - great for PS Plus members who find themselves constantly downloading new games each month. My biggest pet peeve with my system is the error that my game didn't download due to storage capacity. This drive has removed this problem and makes downloading games that much more convenient. The drive itself is very compact and simple to use - just plug it into one of the the PS4 USB slots and you're ready to go. Game saves and data transferred at an acceptable speed. I moved about 400GB of data in less than half an hour. I would have liked a longer USB cable, as the short length doesn't allow the drive to hide while staying connected to the PS4. However, the drive does it's job quickly and reliably, and I'm satisfied with that. A great option to expand your Playstation 4 storage capacity and back up your digital game library. Easy to recommend. Full disclosure, I was given this product for my honest, unbiased review.

Even with many of my grandsons high data games to store, 2TB can store a lot of games. It has a data transfer rates up to 5Gbps with USB 3.0 so its even fast enough (but not as fast as a SSD) to play directly from the drive, but for the most part its used for storage and swapping games out on the console itself. It can also be used just as you would any external drive for portable storage and backup of all sorts of data.. documents, pics, etc. And the drive itself is only about half as thick as a pack of cigarettes and only about an inch wider and taller. Im not gonna fight with him for this drive, Ill buy one for myself! LOL
